@ralph Are figures inherently free use when they’ve been posted on the site, or do they not belong to us because we used the app to create them? Or, do we own the copyright from the onset of creation, and decide how they can be used from there?
I have more questions 🙂

I’ll see if I can ask Ralph to hop back on the site to answer you sooner lol
But from what I kind of know
This mainly pertains to the US but art and any craft posted online has a base line level of copyright
You are the owner and it’s not like someone can take it and sue you afterwards , but it’s not enough protections to easily hold up in a court of law
EB and many users here have had their figures and likeness used and while none have made legal cases , just reporting it to websites like YouTube or Google can hopefully help , and you have better chances if it’s on online art oriented communities

Tbh I said the “fry’s in the bag” comment myself as mainly a joke but the free to download aspect of the site does through this up but from what I know this being a US based app and such , you do own it , and you could dispute it if your figures are ever used in projects without your consent but that’s less on Ralph on more on whatever platform they’re used on and you have to check your own country’s laws in conjunction with the thief’s if possible
Ralph having rules would help better but ultimately it’s still a toss up unless overly explicit
Definitely helpful, I appreciate the answer
There’s a question in particular that I’m wanting to ask Ralph
Also another layer of protection comes in the form of if your image is used in any project you don’t endorse , and especially a shady project like the NFT stuff that broken down here like 2 years ago

A case like this would be far easier to tackle , especially in like Bullet’s case where he was fully not aware of these shenanigans to my knowledge

Hey Ralph disappeared?
Where did this guy go ?
gigan has a surprisingly good answer
personally, i’ve never ventured into anything legal regarding this stuff, i don’t do merch or anything, most i may ever do is use a figure in a promo for a collab or something
but generally speaking…idk, tbh lmao
i’d say it’s similar to whatever you’d consider the legal ownership is when you draw a picture and put it on twitter or something
personally i don’t claim anything once it’s uploaded here, its just a way to share it for others to use
lawyers are probably screaming at the screen telling me to delete this
They asked for answers not guesses fool
Plan to get an education pls
