Both look great, stylistically and creatively very good.

The new version blends more as a vest whereas the first almost appears as an apron due to colouration and the buttons separating the vest’s parts. You could make the vest shaping more exaggerated where the curves are under the arms whilst keeping the shape of the main curve in the middle of the vest.

I think with some spicier colouring this could really pop just a little bit more, maybe some 3D perspective work on the hat, some slight alterations in shaping as mentioned even with the tail being a smoother curve and voila.

Once again though, still very good but it might be worth playing around a bit and seeing how you can change things up, especially with colour as that will help quite significantly I think.
