I think the steam machine, even if it did release at 800 to1000 bucks, would still be way better then getting an Xbox or a Playstation in terms of online play.
I mean, steam isn’t a subscription, so itd basically be one big payment, to have access to online play for ever. Not like Microsoft or Sony charging you extra just to play online.

If it released at 1000 dollars it wouldn’t have much use over a regular pc at the same price, though there is the connivence factor I guess
With the ram shortage I could see it being expensive
Tbh it is still less expensive then most PC builds
The price isn’t out yet
Unless you met 1k is still less expensive than most pc builds, I’d say that’s more around the average for a midrange gaming pc
Tbh I see it (if it is 1k) as an entry level pc for people who are console gamers, who want to try out pc gaming. Cost wise itd be in the middle. More then a console, less then a full pc.
I probably wont get it because the steamdeck is more then enough for me
1k isn’t less than a good gaming pc
I just said it wasn’t 😭
Anyways they said they’re going to price it around pcs of its level, so it’s not going to be cheaper than a pc of its level either way
Its be like buying a mustang ecoboost instead of a 5.0. Its technically worse then the 5.0 but still over all faster then a civic or camry.
Now if we get into trim levels, I guess you could consider a PS5 pro to be a civic type r. A civic type r is more then likely faster then an ecoboost, much like how a ps5 pro is probably better then the steam machine, but it really depends on what you want.
