“I know this may sound cliche with how loosely this sentence is thrown around nowadays, but i wholeheartedly believe this may be the closest thing we have to a Blood Meridian adaptation up to this day.
The weapons and their brutal usage, the torn and well worn clothing, the characters full of personality, the vast desert landscape, and the characteristic 90’s cinema filmography work all perfectly in tandem with one another to portray the dry, hellish land that 1840’s Texas was, if Blood Meridian ever were to get adapted to an onscreen format, this is the way it should be done.”

During the Texas Revolution, a convention of American Texans meets at Washington-on-the-Brazos and declares the independence of Texas from Mexico. The delegates chose David Burnet as provisional president and confirmed Sam Houston as the commander in chief of all Texan forces. The Texans also adopted a constitution that protected the free practice of slavery, which had been prohibited by Mexican law.
