it’s my least favorite modern blade. the small size, oversized ring and the miniture curved blade makes it pale in comparison to something like a classic Tactical Knife. it’s bad at stabbing and it’s bad at cutting, just stick to your Ancient Weapon designs like the Roundel and Cinnequeda for good Knife design

You seem to be oblivious that the Karambit is a hideous main weapon, i mean HIDEOUS. All it takes is fro someone to have a shield and your immediately f**ked, hell, they’d probably beat you to death WITH the shield.
All weapons are specialised but Karambits are not broad enough in their uses. Their short blade only gives you the chance to injure but only rarely kill while it’s small size makes it handy but in the end inferior to anything longer.
A Broadsword, just your classic sword is infinitely better as it has everything on it’s side. Size, mobility, convenience, lethality.

A guy swinging around something like a Cinnequeda i harder to control as the blade is longer, forcing you to distance yourself or get thrusted.
However, in 1 v 1 melee combat, i would always bring a Rapier. A swept hilt to guard the hand, long blade for awesome distance and completely designed to stab with utmost efficiency.

You clearly don’t understand that Rapiers are designed to be the ultimate dueling weapon. With the correct stance, hand movement and posture, nothing can get by you with a Rapier. If you were to beat a Rapiersmen with a Karambit, you are either against someone extremely incompetent or have an incredible amount of luck on your side.

You go from knives to swords to shields which really defeats the purpose. In a fight of course a sword is gonna beat a knife same goes for almost every knife, and of course a shield is gonna block a knife. But that’s not the point. IF we were to make our wielders based off who most often uses said weapon (AKA, Proffessional Fencers & Special Military Operatives) than yes, karambit wins. Because being in the military, and being good enough to be special ops is an entirely different and more knowledgable skill set than being a fencer. Yes, a trained Militant would be able to close the gap between a fencer and grab his arm, because if there’s one thing the rapier isn’t very good at, it’s close range (Because of it sucking at slashing and is more of a poke and stab weapon) so YES once again the Karambit would win!

Besides, the Special Forces’ speed will go for nothing when he can’t even hit the Knight’s weakpoints thanks to the Gambeson and Mail. The knight on the other hand is very capable of an attack because modern day soldiers don’t armour themselves up as much as they used to, making them VERY exposed

Except no because you don’t just wear everyday clothes with Plate Armour on the top. You first have a Gambeson coat, then Chainmail and then finnaly the Plate Armour. Going for somewhere like an armpit avoids the plate, yes, but you’ll never cut through mail AND gambeson with a knife

Rapiers weigh almost exactly the small weight as a Broadsword, it’s just distributed differently. an obese man is actually better off with heavy weapons as they can put all their weight into one incredibly powerful downwards cut.
for a dainty ladyboy like me though, quicker weapons that utilise your agility better like a Rapier or a short polearm like a Glaive or Poleaxe
However, it does not mean a dainty little boy like me can’t use something like a Maul, it just means I’m better off with a Glaive, but i can still use a Maul effectively.
