A few days ago, o got bored. So I made a dragon; the Crag Wyvern.
This is actualy, not a Wyvern. It’s a species of drake that has covelantly evolved Wyvern-like wings (just to make you people less angry, I was told and firmly believed that a drake is a wingless dragon.) There are a few notable differences when it comes to False Wyverns than Wyverns. Unlike Wyverns who have leathery membranes, Wingdrakes have thick(ish) scaly webbing. Their membranes also attach directly to the wing and not around the body. To make up for this, their bones are hollower than regular Wyverns and they have a smaller, compact build than the Wyverns’ burlier build. They lack the ability to breathe fire, and unlike most dragons or Wyverns, they have Echolocation and are primarily nocturnal. The greatest out of all of these, however is the Sailors Wyvern. It earned its name buy ‘guiding’ sailors away from storms. They don’t actualy do this, their just flying away from the storms. Sailors used to keep one or two on a ship and tagged and released them to follow them away from any storms. How they do this is by using their Echolocation and finding small particles and disturbances in the sound.
