Replying to:not Łą¶§ŹĒ¶Yes. Add some pointless conversation before kicking his ass.
You are a moron, period.
A fight without context sets no scene, itās action for the sake of action with no reason. Action done right has context and a reason to it all happening. Throwing two characters at eachother with no way for the viewer to root for either is quite frankly, s**t storywriting.
Replying to:not Łą¶§ŹĒ¶You are annoying, period.
The problem is, nobodyās telling
The thing is Epitaph looks at animation professionally and if you donāt thatās fine, not everyone wants to treat animation like a job, but Epi is extremely passionate about professional animation
The thing is animations like these? They arenāt gonna get you anywhere, I know that statementās blunt but itās true. Maybe theyāll get you a spot on YouTube but you wonāt be as popular as fully fledged animators. Even Alan Becker is capable of putting together a story albeit a simple one, and he CAN do more than just stickfigs, but the lookās already confirmed and the chosen one is characterized as just a silly doodle.
Professionally, Animation is a huge blanket term. A lot of people say animation is just about animation but thatās an uninformed unprofessional statement.
Think of it like this: A lot of people think that all there is the FPS games is aim, and whilst aim is very important thereās a lot more to it than that
To be competitive at most FPS games you have to have good aim, good game sense, good map knowledge, good teamwork in most cases etc etc. Now replace aim with animation. Yes animation is extremely important, but thereās more to it. Thereās good character design animation wise, good composition, good sound design, and in most cases, good humor or story.
The thing is animation is extremely effective at telling a story, as it isnāt as heavily bound to reality as live-action shows, and with animation being as powerful of a story-telling tool, why do we only see fighting animations?
Sure fighting animations are fun at first, but theyāre all flash no substance most of the time. Sooner or later your eyes will adjust and realize that thereās nothing there but a short lived grenade.
If shows were all fighting scenes with two blank figures all the time, no one would give a sh!t. Itād be brainless entertainment that could be soo much more!
And the internet consensus in a lot of the cartoon community is that āGood animation doesnāt mean sh!t if everything else is badā. The best example I can think of is SAO and most anime made by A-1 pictures. The writing is terrible and even highly offensive at times (A scene in the fairy dance arc is f#%king vile, and I have no idea how it got greenlit for commercial release) despite the rather crisp animation.
Youāre probably gonna say something like āSorry dude too long to readā so Iāll put my main points in short:
Epitaph takes animation more seriously than most, and is more āpassionateā in his replies.
Thereās a lot more to animation than just the animation, despite what some may tell you. I could make the smoothest bouncing ball animation and no one would give a sh!t.
If youāre planning to become professional, stickmen fighting eachother for no reason isnāt gonna get you far.
And before you say it; No we canāt just let them figure it out on their own. When was the last time you taught yourself something and how long did it take compared to being taught by someone with experience? The fact that itās taken this long for the idea to even be mentioned is telling of how you canāt trust people to learn it on their own.

You need better figs.
Like, get some gool guy from the website, the tree guy who got uploaded recently would be fun to animate with.
I do have some good stickfigures but you’ll struggle alot on animating combos because you cannot stretch them

Thereās an update coming soon thatāll let you do that.
In the meantime, try practicing more standard things like making conversations interesting
Okay
Yes. Add some pointless conversation before kicking his ass. That would be way more exciting…

In summary āIf the characters donāt care, why should I?ā
You are annoying, period.
The problem is, nobodyās telling a story, just making a cool animation so the audience can say, ādamn heās goodā and live happily ever after
