Well, they’re too small to be a round shield
Look more like a Targe, which is a smaller round shield used by the Scottish, coupled with a broadsword like a Basket Hilt.
Lindybeige did a video on ‘Highlander’ or Targe combat, real interesting.
If you wanna keep the targe look, give it loads of decorative studs
