this is why planes > helicopters
if a plane engine breaks you have a 1% chance to glide to safety
if a helicopter propeller breaks now you’re just a sky-anchor awaiting gravity to do its thing
Unless it’s the rear rotor on a civilian heli. If that breaks, chances are you’re gonna spiral to the ground and explode
The chance to glide to safety is actually a lot more than 1%. The wings generate lift as long as they exist and if the plane still has speed and altitude it can glide to safety
