@ralph, could you put a feature on the smart stretch where the figure keeps its smart stretch? That way I could shorten or elongate nodes easier, the branch tool increment length feature doesn’t seem to be working for me

This. Also would be nice if we got the thing where child segment takes colours/scale of parent segment.
And a way to simply change stickfigure scale on a stick without actually affecting stickfigure scale number. Cause I sometimes mess up proportions in my sticks and then issues come up-
1) This. Also would be nice if we got the thing where child segment takes colours/scale of parent segment.
wot
2) i see hmm
We once talked about it and said you had it planned but I guess u forgot lol.
Like for example we got these buff sticks. And basically we would select an option to fetch colour of parent segment on the static nodes. So if I for example changed colour of the arm, all static nodes attached to it would change to the colour as well.
i say a lot of things don’t put much stock into them
anyway
this sounds like a good idea but in practice, can’t it get messy
like an arm with, say, a glove and a wrap around the wrist and muscle lines etc…
how can you make it so it knows that, if you change the color of the shirt, the wrist-wraps would change color too
but if you change the arm color, the muscle lines would change color too
like, how would it link a static node to which “parent node” to look at
I guess it could just be “select a parent node to reference for color” but yeesh that could get messy and annoying, and what of deleted segments
don’t do this to me
I didn’t mean select. I actually just meant that it would get colour of previous segment. Cause there’s only one parent on a segment. Making a chain reaction basically.
Edit: But rip all those details like linework that is different colour, cant do stuff with it unless it would do some colour math
okay, but i don’t think that would solve all the issues of, changing an arm color, and all children nodes of the muscles for example change color too, but if the “chain” is interrupted by a glove or something (that shouldn’t change color) and then there are fingers that *should* change color, they can’t now
though I guess they would look to the hand node for color so…maybe it could still work
anyway it might be a simple thing to implement and test with so I’ll see
Couldn’t we do that with the change segment color in branch tool? excuse me if I didn’t get what y’all meant by this
yeah this is a good idea i’ll probably add a “save” button as an option when exiting out of smart-stretch mode
