I hate making a bunch of posts at once but I need some advice. A lot of experienced animators fiddle with FPS, yet I don’t. I normally just use the basic 10 FPS and it looks fine, but people always tell me to “use tweening” or “add more” when personally I don’t like it like that. Is there a way I know how to make my animations better by adding more FPS or less? Or know WHEN to add more/add less? I’m pretty decent animator but I’m not as experienced as some others on here.

    • Adding more FPS can help smoothen out things, I usually go for 15-24 with FPS, since it saves time, makes things smoother and faster, overall better.

    • you do whatever fits your style, that’s basically it

if you’re going for that “super smooth” tweening style, then FPS 10 w/ 5 tweened frames is perfect

but if you’re a non-tweener with that more rough look, maybe 12 fps is a good fit

they’re different styles of animating though you can do things with non-tween that you can’t with tweening, for example, (or would just look weird with tweening)
