2019-12-14 12:01:33 UTC Okay so I see last night the laser effect won the feature again (congrats @tastylemon16 lmao).
This was a mistake because I done oofed and forgot to add a filter to exclude stickfigures which have already won the feature to possibly win again, I’ve fixed it now and manually calculated who top 3 figures would be.
Because of the new algorithm, UC votes have weight in the winning of feature. But to prevent anyone from, ahem, breaking the unspoken etiquette of not voting for oneself, a user’s UC vote on their own figure will not count as anything.

@auto-angel my guy don’t be a dick and do what you did last night again, realistically there’s no way to prevent that unless I allow voting for only logged-in users which I don’t want to do

impressive yet chaotic, might want to add a captcha to votes

Rather than immediately putting on captchas which’d technically be punishing us all (oof), maybe just make an example and not let him have Users Choice for a while, even if he gets the most downloads. I dunno, for a good few weeks maybe.
Maybe i’m being too harsh. It’s just, once you’ve had to plough through 53 features, you can come to respect just how ruthless the grind can be and so if someone’s just running around slapping their willy on a buncha bots to just give him features, it takes aways from the respect that features earn you.

yeah I’m sort of confused why Auto just thought it was ok to make everyone vote for his BG, if you want ur stick to get featured
ya gotta be like meya gotta make some quality figsthe thing is, and I just wanna announce this in general to everyone now, is when I “schedule” figures to be uploaded (I usually have them at least 1,2,3,4 days in advance) I do take a moment to spread out “good” figures
I just take a glance, nothing in depth, and if a particular day has like 10 “wow” figures I’ll usually push a few to the next day(s) so they’re not all competing with each other
same with if a day has too little “wow” figs, I’ll take some from other days and shove em in there
I usually do this with custom thumbnail figures a lot because they typically
1) look cooler (the thumbnail at least) and
2) usually are good figures anyway because the creator took time to make a good thumbnail so they give a damn
anyway, just saying I will not take requests to move certain uploads to certain days to try to game the system for a user who wants to maybe try and be put up against a day with “better odds”, I can see this being a thing and just wanna nip it in the bud here

you did win the feature bro, but you still didn’t really deserve it if even you thought the BG was bad. If you make other people do stuff like that then you’ll never advance in fig making if you know you can just do stuff like that.

You pulled a scummy move in an attempt to cheat the system where others have had to grind and actually put EFFORT in.
You don’t cheat, otherwise you lose people’s respect, like right now.

Also while your reading this (because this stuff sort of confuses me, I am dummy I know) can you give me a simple list of what doesn’t and what does count towards a feature because I feel like a video talking about how to get a featured stickfigure would be helpful.
