What? No if someone speaks a language and is from somewhere you would say their country name along with something else when referring to whether they speak their countries language or are from there. In this instance I said he is spanish meaning he’s from spain/speaks the language.

I know but it’s incorrect and it can come across as condescending when people correct other people. As much as it is for their own good to help the grammar skills like I said it’s condescending and can make the person being corrected feel stupid.
