We have literal kids here now. We have a new “generation” of animators here with us that want to be good but they bitch and cry at criticism and think that if you see the issues in what they do, you’re the bad guy.
What the hell happened to that 13+ rule? Is it just gone now?

Yeah, perky is damn right. When I joined this place was somewhat decent, now the entire activity page is a bunch of 5 year olds fucking whining.
*me not knowing what to do about this drama so I pretend I never saw it and fell asleep early*
But in honesty while I agree with this a lot. Kids are just kids. They will still appear. Honestly from my experience it’s just best to ignore them. If they want to be immature and not get help leave them be honestly.
Hecc I wanted to throw in advice to member only to get attacked on multiple occasions. Even if I was the owner of the amino. Lol. It just happens.
But I guess Ralph has to state his opinion on minors and kids under year of 13, meanwhile also not having SN to be filled with Conservative toxicity-

Y’all are worrying too much about drama, utopias don’t exist, you’ll never see a 100% healthy community, whenever we see haters or bullies means we’re growing as a community, the more people we get it’s totally normal we get bad influences, best thing to do is being happy stick nodes community improves and ignore annoying people with the sweet block button
nah, it’s more like, some of the bigger role models here are just plain dumb
they create a community centered around themselves, leading to an environment where cnc isnt too harsh
i know most role models arent like this but some of them are actual idiots

That’s a pretty bad example than because as much as the person here sounds ‘noobish’ or like a kid they are just asking for help it’s not really them whining.
You all just need to be more understanding.
You see, the problem is that experienced folk aren’t too understanding nor patient. You came on abrasive to a beginner which isn’t how you teach. Antagonism towards newer users leads to them not listening, this not improving. Maybe try and be nicer next time.
As a veteran myself, I know that it’s MUCH BETTER to be welcoming to newer people and not complain about the new generation. Just leads to a split in the community, and then they’re gonna listen to you less.
I guess I never took that into consideration.
Hm, guess my expectations were too high for new people. Yikes.

some people are just rude, others don’t actually get the idea of not being rude *immediately* to someone new
and then there’s also the fact, yeah, there are kids and some just start literally crying at the first hint of some type of non-praise comment

So the whole new SN generation is just kids who can’t take criticism? Oh boy. I’ve had my experiences with them here but now there’s even more….might not end well.
This site is most definitely not for kids, especially kids who cannot handle criticism or even really impressionable kids. This site has some…questionable “role models” (not naming names) and the last thing I want is more of them.
The kids who can’t take criticism shouldn’t be here, especially if they’re willing to put on a fight over it. I know this community can get violent with drama and the last thing we need is a kid crying to their mom and landing Ralph in trouble with shit like “What kind of site are you running?” Or “This should be more kid friendly!” And what not.
What Gryo said was perfectly put, there are experienced people here who don’t have much patience and can become abrasive which would lead to a shitshow.
I personally don’t want to see this lovely community go from a place for experienced animators/makers to a daycare for little kids fresh to SN with a lack of taking criticism.
