2020-02-20 23:58:06 UTC @ralph I think there needs to be a change as to how many effects can get featured because to be honest almost everyone who would submit a stickfigure on the same day as an effect would get angry and consider it unfair and it is.
I respect the fact that an effect is an equal stickfigure to everything else but because it’s such a simple clean pretty thing to look at a lot of users would be like “oh hey this looks really nice actually” and upvote it.
I think maybe some system should be in place where if an effect is submitted it should have some kind of vote reduction. Or if you were to update the vote system so it could be judged in percentage then maybe effects would have some sort of auto percent amount reduction to them to make it a fair competition.
The thing is over the past month or so it seems users have jumped on the ‘effects are the way to a featured’ bandwagon.
In simpler terms effects do other users dirty.

pls hold off on the feature system critique, as I’ve said I’m going to address it in the upcoming site redesign to make votes count more *and* push to have people/guests vote more by making it more apparent/easier, this will hopefully remedy the issue
im working on this redesign every day for hours on end and it’s killing my soul but it’s approaching done-ness

i get the point, but this just will cause all kinds of subjective issues since it’s not always going to be clear what qualifies as an effect-effect or just sorta-an-effect and then i’ll have people starting revolutions
Um it’s tricky with these sort of things because it is technically fair and okay in terms of the submission system but in terms of what people like and don’t it’s not so much but then again this factor of what people like isn’t really something to account for with the submission system.
Also yes I will hold off on the critiques, I can tell your soul is being killed because you seem quite on-edge, usually you are a pretty chill dude but in your post at jury instead of putting it more civilised you went straight to the point of nobody cares. Which is understandable don’t get me wrong here i’m just saying you sound stressed.
