(Here’s the entire rest of chapter one. Only hit ‘read more’ if you wanna read a ton more.)

“Hoo boy, these are heavy as crud!” Eeto said, struggling to lift his arms up after the weights had been put on. After a few tries, he could only lift them a mere 2 inches off the ground at most, until exhaustion took over and he couldn’t lift them at all for a while.
“Yeah, they’ll take some getting used to. Y’know, most Furutans never get to this point. And yet, here you guys are, working on the weights to finish off your third week!” Namgo exclaimed. “And that’s to say nothing of your FPUs.”
“…Grrraah!” Eeto suddenly lifted as hard as he could, successfully holding the weights almost a foot above the ground for 3 seconds before letting them go, a vibration being sent out across the floor.
“Woah! Bro, chill- I think I felt your power spike up by 6!” Epla warned. “Plus, too much effort, and you might hurt yourself. Pull a muscle or somethin’.”
“Yeah, but I just really wanna get everything out of this that I can.” Eeto
leaned back and sat down for a bit. Meanwhile, Epla lifted and got his weights 4 inches off the ground for a whole second.
“So, how long are we gonna use these? Like long-term, before our next training sub-unit?” Eeto asked.
“I always leave that up to my trainees. Whenever they feel ready, then we move on,” Namgo replied. Eeto nodded, and then put his weights back on after a few more seconds had passed. He realized that he could lift them a lot easier now, and lifted them a little under 2 feet this time.
“I guess an increase of 6 FPUs really ‘packs a punch’, huh?” He joked, holding them there for a good 4 seconds before slowly letting them down with a sigh.
“Aaand I think you just went up 10 more,” Namgo said.
“Holy crud! Lemme try again…” Epla lifted as hard as he could and found he could almost lift his weights as high as Eeto could.
“There we go, guys! Epla, you just went up 8 FPU!” Namgo said, clapping. “You guys are growing quickly, but I think that’s enough for today. We shouldn’t push ourselves too much. Let’s get meditating’!” With that, the boys slid off their weights and sat down. They spent the whole 30 minutes meditating as usual.

    [Planet Furuta, Age 782]

Eeto and Epla, now 15, had long since been moved to a meditation-only training style. Namgo took note of how much more their power grew during meditation than the other forms of training, and talked with King Durian about switching them over, to which he agreed. Their power levels had dramatically risen over the past three years, much to nobody’s surprise, and both were in the high 20,000’s on the FPU scale. Recently, however, the boys were starting to gain a thin, black aura around them during the exact middle of meditation- perhaps the peak?- and they seemed to grow even stronger during this time. However, it seemed to slowly be taking a toll, as their meditation times slowly shortened.
“Hey, uh, Eeto and Epla?” Namgo asked one day.
“Yup?” The boys replied at the same time.
“I wanted to talk about this weird aura thing that’s been happening lately. It’s impacting your guys’ performance both ways.”
    “What aura thing?” Epla asked.
“During the ‘peak’ of your meditation, you both gain a black aura of sorts. I don’t know what it is, but I’m just worried that it’s slowly taking its toll on you guys.”
“That… does sound kinda weird. Maybe Durian knows something about it?” Eeto suggested with a shrug. Namgo took his advice, however, and went straight to Furuta’s king.
“They gain a black aura during their Ki meditation? B-but that could only mean… Oh no,” Durian said, a look of worry spreading across his face.
“What? What does it mean?” Namgo asked.
“Did your parents not tell you about the legend? Agh, and apparently Eeto and Epla’s haven’t, either… It seems it’s been lost to the past generations. I’ll make it quick,” he said with a sigh, Namgo sitting down in place ready for an explanation.
“Long ago, Furutans were not the race we are today. We were originally members of a race called Saiyans. They were ruthless warriors, much unlike us. To put it simply, they believed in brawling over every little disagreement. They all had a rivalry with each other, in a way. One Saiyan, however, decided against this. And because this was against Saiyan nature, he was frowned upon.
“Although soon, more Saiyans suddenly sided with him,” He continued. “This Saiyan was my grandfather. I am actually King Durian the third. But that’s beside the point. Eventually, more and more Saiyans went with Durian’s idea until the others had had enough. They formed tribes of sorts, either tribe believing the other was wrong. Let’s fast forward a bit here, though…
“We were cast off in a ship, eventually, to fend for our own. My grandfather found a planet- this planet- and settled down. At this point, we had fully evolved into present-day Furutans. We made up a story to tell our children about Saiyans, but we had to… change it a little. Instead of a ruthless brawling machine, the legend of the Void Warrior was about a pure-hearted fighter that would save Furuta from some form of evil.
“Some, however, believed that the Void Warrior was still going to be as evil as the Saiyans were. Everybody told their kids one story or the other. And I’m not taking any chances. If they somehow obtain black hair along with the aura, contact me immediately.”
And nearly a month later, it happened. The boys officially had obtained the form of the Void Warrior. Durian kept to his word and sent the boys off in a Furutan Escape Pod, sending them to the furthest planet away.
    Earth.
