Essay:
As I wandered more and more away from the open grass, I climbed up the rocky hill to find a huge cathedral in the distance. The image was foggy, and the cold blowing wind was slow. I climbed down the other side and went closer. The wind stopped blowing, being replaced with a smoky smell of dust and broken pieces. The Cathedral was getting more clearer as I got closer, and I was approached with two gargantuan statues and a big, dull, gate. The statues were sturdy and looked like it wasn’t disturbed for many years. Both statues blew smoke, and the gate opened with a metal creak. I strolled inside, but when I entered, the gate loudly closed shut.
Everything was cracked inside. The room was like a mansion’s hall, laid with pews and sharp, broken glass. Dust covered every part of the cracked room, making the stench worse, slightly stinging my nose. I looked around the room for a good while, moving farther away from the gate. Suddenly, a rusted chandelier dropped and crashed on the floor in front of me, shattering any broken glass under it. A violent shake followed, leading a sound of large crumbling rocks. I looked back, and the cracked pieces broke into large debris, falling in front of the gate, sealing it. Soon, destruction aimed at me.
I ran away from them, looking for an exit or another path towards it. I found an opening which lead to another path, and made a quick impromptu decision to go there. I sprinted towards it before the debris would take me. I reached it before a wall would fall on me like a temple’s pillar.
With a couple of panting, followed by a relieved breath, I carried on. The path was narrow, and it had more large debris than the first one had. I traced the narrow path, hoping for an exit. But when I had reached the path’s end, it led me to the similar room the Cathedral had. Destruction was waiting there, and death was counting on his abacus.
Destruction took its first strike, destroying the room. The smell can no longer be smelt, and the sound felt as if it would never end. Dodging ever move destruction had on me, I was getting choked by the air. Finally, I saw light, so I struggled myself towards it. Before I could reach it, destruction made its last move: a big gaping hole at the end. Determined to leave this Cathedral, I leaped.
The air was sweet and fresh, the grass was soft and damp. I opened my eyes. I looked around with the image of the destroyed Cathedral behind me. I stood up and saw a tree with a small, green leaf growing on its branch. Tired, I walked towards the field of grass. As I walked away, I looked behind, watching the Cathedral fade away.
