Everything you think is happening has actually happened 80 milliseconds ago

This is caused by a lag in the human brain’s neural pathways

    • So… when you dodge something, you’re actually 80 milliseconds slower than the time it takes you to react?

From collecting my knowledge your brain switches task off and on as fast as it can to kinda multi-task. One part is your brain predicting the dodge and gathering information that you know about body language etc… While the other parts working on moving you to move out the way or react.

Instincts exist too. I’m pretty sure your instincts are the fastest reactions you have, I think your instincts are also faster than the fastest possible reaction time.
Basic instincts: oh no something is coming at me I will dodge

Something cool I learned in my medical magnet high school is people that dodge tends to be weaker compared to people who braise and get ready for impact.

Okay. I instinctively dodge. Possibly because I’m very agile, so it’s the most natural and easy thing for me to do.

                Because of football, I braise.

    • No, it’s simple process time for the brain, It’s a neat fact to know but doesn’t do much because there are 1,000 milliseconds in a second so it’s more of a delay than lag.

    • Apparently there are spots in your vision you don’t actually see, your brain just guesses well.

The effect has a name I believe, but it’s your brain simply adjusting over the years.

    • If you only used 10% of your brain, the other 90% would be useless. You could remove 90% of your brain and you would be fine. But you can’t. I doubt that you only use 10% of your brain. I think you probably use 100%.

Having every neuron working together and your body working perfectly with it. Would honestly make humans superhuman. We would start picking up on anything we hear craving to expand of vocabulary etc… We would probably go power-hungry as a race.

Well, what I meant is that I think you probably use every part of your brain, not every neuron.

No, I was just thinking and typed it for no reason. I know what you meant.
