I’m honestly starting to have second thoughts about being able to participate in this, unfortunately. When I first joined, I was confident in my animation ability, but…
Due to the several-month long hiatus I went on (Which was thanks to an unmotivated rut I entered during late 2019 that I’m mostly done with), I’ve gotten really rusty at animating, not that I was particularly great to begin with. And after some people pointed out some flaws in said rusty animation, it ended up taking a shot at my confidence. That isn’t to say I can’t take criticism, I’m just looking at it in a realistic fashion.
Due to deadlines and whatnot that I may not be able to make, due to needing practice with animating, I may end up leaving Arcade Fighters. Considering practice time, along with the lack of tips and tricks I’ve gotten recently, I most likely won’t be able to make deadlines.
Thing is, I can’t rush the practice either. I want to become a decent animator so I can make content that will effectively entertain others. After all, I have not one, but ????? separate series planned, and I want them to look as good as possible. So yeah, due to lack of confidence, lack of time, and lack of help, I’m not sure if I’ll participate.

Tl:dr who cares what other people say bruv do what you love and ignore the doubters
I didn’t say anything about people doubting me, though. People simply pointed out that my animating skills have decreased, and that’s feedback I needed.
Sorry, English isn’t my main language so…ignore the people who say that your rusty, your better than most people because unlike you, they quit
Also this season is for simple characters so you have a lot of time to fix your mistakes
damn this was wholesome and so true and i feel it

m8 you’re a lot better than you think
maybe time and schedules is an issue, but don’t doubt your creativity and talent because there’s no problem there
maybe time and schedules is an issue
Fair point, I have the time management skills of a potato lmaoAnd thanks for the positive feedback. I do still have fields of animation I want to improve on, though. For example, I’ve recently noticed that I rely way too much on the Add Tweened Frame button, which isn’t a good habit.
I’ve also heard somewhere that a good way to help yourself improve as an animator is to watch other people animate via “Speed Animating”-type videos. Is that true?
Ayo bruh chill. Season 1 is for simple looking figs. You have lots of time to prepare your boots for the 2nd one. You’ll get walking again eventually.
Holy crap u posted all that?
The best way to improve on animation is through trying out new things, you dont force yourself to improve, you just, do
Anyways about critiques and confidence shots, think of critiques as suggestions rather than an order, you can always turn down a critique if you don’t feel like it, but do so in a polite manner, and remember to keep it in mind so you may come back to it.
Anyways, it’s alright if you want to leave the project, it’s all just for fun anyways, but if you still want to participate, take your time, no rush, don’t pressure yourself
