i can see so many people “well if X didn’t get in why did Y”
it all boils down to personal preference among the 3 judges is, i was very surprised at the difference in all of our choices

to be fair he was one of the originals who pioneered that demon trend, genuinely surprised on his rejection as to be honest his entry was genuinely better than a lot of the entries here

if you pull off someone for simply being “cliche” that’s just being biased imo, smx’s entry shows that stick nodes is capable of making something to the level of his entry, it being canned simply due to being “cliche” or “uninteresting” ruins the point of the contest, which is to show what quality node-art stick nodes can create, not an oc judging competition. it needs to impress, not entertain.
i showed off smx’s entry to a few of my friends in one server filled with stick nodes veterans ranging from 2014-2016, they were all angry or confused on why it wasnt accepted

It’s not that I said it was uninteresting or cliché. Honestly because the “complexity” in it was the only factor in it… But it was kinda simple at the same time. There’s some shadows here and there, that black goo stretching across… But like… It wasn’t really something that went over the other entries. Not saying it’s bad. Never said so. It’s just other entries were better in different factors too.

If I see any stickfigure with “cool design” (And not just some soldier guy, or gradients, or cracks or accessories) holding a weapon then I will call that logic to be garbage
the one you thought as me or gaby couldn’t be for 2 reasons, one, it’s too dark to be considered as Gaby’s or my armor, second mine has some red parts that could be pixelated, and it can’t be anyone else with armor as well.
