    from other reports, I *think* the lost-attachment thing has to do with the user maybe leaving the Gmail/email compose screen for a moment, returning back, then sending it

      i see it possible, like rushing to get the thumbnail out by leaving mid compose or maybe you could blame internet who knows

      It is very much possible, and quite probable imo. If you want, I can do some testing by gmailing myself files.
