I don’t like art style most of the times , contrary to my sex gay jokes , I don’t like overly sexual shit (hence why I big gay all over it) , I don’t like they’re voices (call me racist , but I also hate some beaner voices , and I’m beaner) , and most feel repetitive from what I read on summaries on them
The art style and animation feels weird at best, and painful at worst. I don’t like the voices, both in Japanese and when they’ve been dubbed over. The plots are usually really weird, and tend to be a copy of something that came out ~20 years ago, with some very slight changes. And, lastly, my least favorite part is the fanbase. Some people absolutely obsess over these fictional characters, and force them onto you. People allow their entire personality to just be their infatuation with Japanese cartoons, and its kind of gross.
I don’t like anime for I see a lot of sexual things around anime. And that’s a big no no, basically I see alot of things that are sexual that is in anime and I don’t really like that type of stuff so don’t mind me I’m going to go back to watching *insert nostalgic TV show*
Replying to:tankIt’s not the anime
It’s you, you pervert
What the heck, I don’t voluntarily look at it I don’t like it for what I have seen before. I don’t see how it could be me if I don’t mean to see the things, and it’s not only what I see it’s what I hear about anime.
I don’t like it because most of the time I find it cringe inducing. The high pitched cute anime girl voice makes me want to hurt someone sometimes. I generally am biased though, since I’ve only watched JoJo because… well, because I didn’t understand the memes, and also because I like the concept of stando powa, road roller wielding vampires, buff dudes fuckin eachother up with sun blood punchy punches is cool.. In general, I guess anime could sit right with me, but I have my standards for what I’ll watch, be it the story or action, even the voice acting too (kinda why I like dub a bit more than the sub of jojo, because listening to a language that sounds annoying, that I have no grasp of, and that I have a short attention span for reading makes it difficult sometimes…) TLDR: I only watched jojo before and generally anime is cringe inducing sometimes aswell as its fanbase sometimes.
gonna answer this thread in a tl;dr but serious fashion bc why not
i never cared for anime enough to have an opinion for it, but i did always have that notion it was full of high-pitched japanese screeching and half-naked cartoon characters
but I enjoyed DBZ when I was younger and watched DBZ Kai as it aired on Toonami relatively recently (2014) on Saturday nights around midnight on Cartoon Network, in addition to other shows they had on because why not, like Attack on Titan
that kinda made me realize that, damn, this Attack on Titan thing is kinda really good
and it’s *not* like anime is typically perceived (a step down from hentai, basically)
it’s a really interesting story, compelling characters, great art and animation – shit maybe this anime thing is…entertaining? and depending on the context even inspirational at times
so I went out of my way to watch other shows on the block, (jojo and countless others) etc
Lots of people, I don’t know why, but plenty of people

What if the people in anime don’t like anime…
Like watching a movie about yourself… it isn’t that appealing
