1) posts that are just “hello” or some similar variant (exceptions: a legitimate introductory post with some actual thought put into it)
2) posts that confusingly reference other posts or continue a conversation – with absolutely no explicit link or explanation for reference aka “freddy is winning the poll” – …what poll?

That’s a great move actually, glad to see some good change, it would encourage users to be relevant and post more actual content.
regardless of rule changes (reducing unintentional spam) the thing is, it wouldn’t be uniformly applied
simply bc I’m not onling 24/7 (nor is any admin)
so sure, when I get on I’ll scroll down a bit and maybe delete stuff – but, I’d miss a lot (I’m not gonna go through every post every day) and also, maybe some of these otherwise-deleted threads now have a big conversation ongoing or something

Maybe create an option for flagging a comment for spam, pornography etc. and it gets hidden from the public and an admin gets notified and decides whether it stays or not.
Not sure if possible though because of WordPress plus I hear you’re not amazing with website work compared to app work, I refer to you for that by the way.
thats a good idea, i could likely code in a feature like that, but then comes the problem of abusing that feature

Make a controversial designation option of ‘Moderation Users’ for more mature down-to-earth users to report to an admin.

The criteria should be something like ‘user for over 2 years, must be signed in every once a month’ and then a final deciding by the admins.
