When app is closed the app is closed. It stops all processes. No apps can do thing like that when it saves upon closing because its how phones do their shit.
Most software instead relies on frequent backups, however the saving process would need to be heavily optimised. Imagine you having to stop your animation process every 15 minutes because you turned on autosave. Sometimes, if you save too long, it would also initiate another save process, possibly corrupting the file or at least softlock the software.
Also @Ralph idk if you know but the save reminder stacks. Including during export.
How much time do I gotta wait for the save reminders to pile up till the app becomes unusable
that feature alone would eat up your storage

lol @ “the save reminder stacks”, idk why just putting it that way is funny because i know exactly what you mean
i keep meaning to fix that
for like a year now
Can’t you just make a simple command to check if it’s active or not? lol
no it’s simple
i just keep forgetting lol
Also why did I get a literal jupscare from a stick figure when I opened the app
