I reccomend a hat in time,it’s not that hard of a game (unless you play the death wish DLC,which you have to be insane to do) it has a wide array of funny characters and an amazing soundtrack to boot. Plus it’s really fun

But if you have a PC i could give a recommendation on Srb2Kart (Sonic robo blast 2 kart) which is a mod off a doom mod which is just mario kart but insanely harder and more chaotically funny. Oh, and you might forget that its a sonic fangame due to the sheer amount of crazy and cool mods. Even a 3D mod!

For RPGs: Xenoblade, or Fire Emblem Three Houses
Platformers: Mario 3D Allstar, Super Mario Maker 2, Kirby Star Allies, Celeste (Haven’t played it myself but I hear it’s good)
Casuals: Super Mario Party, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Fighters: Smash Ultimate
Others: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Collection, TLOZ: Breath of the Wild
These are all I’ve played and enjoyed or have heard good things about

I agree tbh, there are so many types of them
You got Final Fantasy which used to be turn based
Kingdom Hearts which is open area fighting
And Fire Emblem which is moving units across a board
All of them are rpgs but play so differently from one another
so what makes FF and FE rpgs when they play so different, but not Mario or Zelda
