Kin was plagued by a curse for as long as he could remember, preventing him from being able to use magic effectively. However, this doesn’t stop him from trying to achieve his goal to join the Sorcerer’s guild, the only people in the entirety of the three kingdoms who can help him get rid of the curse.

Kin Episode 4??? When????

This post is a day late but…
Yesterday marks about SIX years since this series was officially created on sticknodes. And while it still is not anywhere near finished, I want to take a moment to celebrate. This series was a big part of my childhood, throughout every struggle I’ve had mentally, this was my way to escape and express myself creatively.Kin started off as a humble DBZ fan comic (could you believe that?). That comic I made in grade six turned into a whole world of fantasy adventure with twists and turns that I couldn’t imagine coming up with back then.
But to address the newcomers, which I assume most of you are considering the (very) long hiatus, KIN is a passion project that WILL have more content come 2025. This is a promise. But bare with me, this is just the beginning of an EPIC journey.
Special thanks to:
@ralph for making Sticknodes and being there from day one
And thank you to the whole Sticknodes community for being there along the way.
Artwork by me, character: Zero

Finally back to do my montly check in/update. About to head back home for the summer this friday, finally. Also, KIN will be back but at this point I doubt anyone even remembers anything about this series. I am going to get back to making regular posts here about it and putting out updates.
SERIES UPDATES: >(note: this may or may not happen in this exact way but the series will continue. I haven\’t fully decided yet)
*Okay so if anybody was wondering about a new episode or just more content related to KIN, the good news is that it is coming. The bad news is that I will most likely be rebooting the series this summer.
The reason for this is because I mainly want to simplify and restructure a lot of stuff. The first thing being the figs. While the detail is good, it makes it hard to get a full range of motion, so I was considering a more basefig kind\’ve look. Not entirely though, each character would still have a unique appearance and details, just simpler.
**The next thing is ACTION. At the end of the day this series is all about the fights and action sequences despite all the lore. What I noticed about the previous episodes were full of exposition and not much attention grabbing elements. So I hope to change that to make the lore more visually engaging (like you see in episode 2 and 3).

Here’s his lore if you’re interested
The Marz family is a small side branch of a larger family that was once very prestigious. The Marz’ fall from grace started about 50 years prior when the current head of the main family joined the Sorceror’s Guild, he was Agnir zo Marun. Agnir’s men had just discovered a race of people with strange blood. This blood was produced much faster and in greater amounts than humans. This caused their skin to be a translucent greenish sometimes reddish colour. It was eventually discovered that the blood had various latent magic properties that were unlocked when tested with Reality magic. However after the first few individuals of this race appeared it was clear that this was NOT a new race of non-humans but rather humans infected by some sort of magic plague. The King at the time was planning on finding a cure but there were no experts yet, as this was a high level water magic that originated from a dead magic beast. The king had died soon after and Agnir persuaded the young king Ravan to let him and his kin work to find a cure. In reality he was doing cruel experiments in order to extract their blood to be used in magic items which he built a monopoly on. If these items were mishandled they would lead to infection and thus creating a loop of new test subjects. The Marz branch objected to this and decided to take in some of the infected before Agnir could get his hands on them. However he found out about their plan and publically denounced them calling them traitors.

Designing a new character, I mentioned this guy in a lore post a while ago but his name is Agnir Marun. He’s the Governor as well as a former member of the Sorceror’s Guild. The Sorceror’s Guild consists of people capable of using the highest level of magic known as sorcery through years of studying magic. These four individuals (five if you include the king who is typically expected to have achieved sorcery before being crowned) essentially rule the Kingdom of Hikkor alongside the King and act as advisors and military leaders. Sorcerors are also seen as having been favored by the gods. As more magical prowess is seen as having a stronger link to the divine

Glad to hear it, so long as you schedule in some breaks from time to time it should help balance things out and let you work to your full capacity.
At least that’s what I’ve come to find personally.
Good to have you back in business.

Yeah, that was a real issue for me and it made me way less productive. Like when I worked on the first episode I was able to breeze through a lot of the work. But after a while I kinda got burnt out and lost motivation.
But now I think I can actually come back to it and finish what I started. KIN is one of the best works of fiction that I’ve ever produced and I want to finish at least part of the story

Don’t know if anyone will see this but, I haven’t really worked on anything for this series in a very long time like almost 9 months now. That’s also the same amount of time that I’ve been away from StickNodes. And honestly I needed a break, as much as I love KIN and its world and characters and sharing that with everyone on here, KIN was starting to limit my creativity in the sense that it was the only project I would really work on and because of all the lore and its moving parts it kinda stayed that way. So while I am coming back to StickNodes, I’d say that Kin will probably be on the back burner for a while. So don’t worry, episode 4 is still coming. I just want to work on some of my other projects that got left behind. Also thanks @Ralph for making SN, Kin is one of the best stories I’ve ever written and the only one with any kind of audience so thanks for that

For anyone who still enjoys this series and wants to see more, don’t worry it’ll be back soon. Going to find a way to incorperate different techniques into my animation, but for now I’ve got some unrusting to do :/. Also been finding new ways to express myself creatively, started drawing irl again and writing short stories.

Kin has always been that one criminally underrated SN show
I feel like this year is the year for kin, I’ve got the rest of season 1 planned out in terms of story, just need to get back into animating
