    • I’ve been asking myself this here and there and it’s an interesting thing to think about, like how much of what you do is done in dependency of hopes or aspirations for your future, what comes next once you are at the point you want to be.

    • My main goal is to live comfortably in Washington again with my best friends and the rest of my family. There’s not much I want more currently. If I achieve that goal then I’d be able to do awesome shit like having awesome bbq/cookouts on the weekends. I’d also want to buy a boat and some camping equipment and I’d be able to have fun outdoors with my friends.

I’d be content if I had achieved my goal.

      What about you Lemon?

The list goes on really and there’s some stuff I’m happier to not publicly disclose but I feel like trying to make something of SN is a big one for me, it seems naive and kind of aimless but for me SN meant a lot, I was active at a vulnerable time in my life and it was the right people that helped me value myself and my life even if not their direct intentions.

I won’t go too into it but basically I want to give back to SN and elevate it to somewhere else, in order to do that though it needs to be able to shed it’s current skin and have enough behind it to carry it forwards.

Thanks for asking, hopefully you get what you’re after, those simpler things like spending time with friends and family are really what make life in the short-term, and memory-wise the long-term which is of course what we take with us always.

Godspeed bro, I believe you can do it. I was in a similar point when I found Sticknodes, and what you’re describing really hits close to home. I believe that SN can be something much more than it already is, and I would love nothing more than to see it become that.

    • Really a simple end goal in life for me is to have a successful lineage and thriving family, so I suppose just the privilege of being able to see a grandchild or two would be enough for me. Not sure what would be next but I would die happy if I knew I wasn’t ending my bloodline lol.
As for more short-term goals not related to the usual school/job crap (of course a goal would be to pass and not be fired), I’d like to see myself learn a foreign language, and my next step from there would be to learn another, then another, so on and so forth.

All good, glad to hear you had a pleasant year.

2024 was decent for me, a couple of things going on, had some good stuff, had some bad stuff.

I left my job, got a new one, started more efforts towards SN stuff etc so all in all 2024 has been a year of realisation and potentially new things I would say. I can’t really say too much on either end of the spectrum about it because for me I’d rather just stay on the ball with things and at least be aware of how things are and how they make me feel instead of feeling inclined to pity myself for those things, the bottom line is as much as I can feel for the times, it doesn’t change my situation. It’s not to say it’s such a rise and grind mindset but I can just say that getting older isn’t getting any easier but that’s okay.

I have hopes that 2025 will be better, I’m pretty confident it will be.

Can’t say it was all too good, but it did lead to me discovering a lot of previously unknown (and mildly concerning) stuff about myself. Even the bad stuff has brought about good, so that’s nice.
2025 is going to be the year where my life fundamentally changes for the better (mostly leaving this icy hellhole of a state dubbed “Connecticut,”) so I openly welcome it, no matter how much trouble the next few months bring. I got so much more to look forward to lol, much happier times.

For sure these are rougher times, for the handful of us that still frequent SN and are similar ages ( 18 – 20+ ) it’s an interesting one because I think a good amount of us are moreorless in the same boat. This year especially has been more enterprising for SN’s people, I feel that within the next few years we will be able to scope out who has what commitments for SN. Truth be told we’re all moving on with our lives seemingly at similar points so either people will stick around and make something of SN somehow or will move on completely.

I don’t want to make this reply too lengthy so I’ll leave it at that but hopefully you can make sense of your situation in 2025 and see some real positive changes coming your way from all of the struggle.

Maybe so but you’re only 15, once you get what you want it’s a constant feed of that to maintain it and any lifestyle choices made regarding money etc.

It’s good to take initiative and push yourself but you gotta respect the processes and not throw your childhood away. Not to say you are but just be careful what comes next because it’s never going to become a new opportunity but instead a sacrifice to your time and effort.

That and despite the actual logic behind teenage years, early adulthood, I would say it’s mainly about what happens at what years.

16 yes people get jobs and stuff and things start to get harder but you’re still very much in early years of your life so enjoying it or moreso getting what you can out of it is worthwhile.

Once you’re 18+ it would be more logical to try and up the ante and make something of your time beyond your own desires.

    • Definitely warm for winter but the temperature for winter here is just a jacket so it isn’t saying much. Either way in summer the heat is so unbearable you can barely wear a tank top without being drenched in sweat, so it’s unfortunately a no-brainer for me.
