Question Of The DayWhat was the hardest animation you’ve had to make, and the easiest one?-
trying to actually make an animation look good, random bullshit go
-
Does an unfinished anination count? If it does then my hardest animation was a Godzilla vs Cloverfield one i tried making a few years back. I was using an old phone back then so the app kept crashing because the white ninja godzilla figure i was using was too node heavy. as for the easiest one It was a goku vs default stickfigure animation
-
Years ago I binge animated a ‘ series ‘ which consisted of one poorly made episode of my own Iron Fist ( glowy fist dude from marvel ) show. I used to make these shitty beat pad songs as well and used that for an intro.
I never made it past episode 1 and it was literally like 2 minutes long, I spent the whole Sunday on it.
-
Man idk hardest
Easiest gotta be the air suspension animation I made a few days back
-
Most of my animations are hard to animate because I always want to improve my animation for each animation. I would say hardest animation would be the “Nameless Deity is Hard To Animate” animation, or the unfinished birthday animation that was sadly delayed, and my easiest would be the 60FPS animation test
-
Depends on it

Where do you get inspiration for OCs?
Asking for a friend-
stuff i like
-
the orb of wisdom
-
Replying to:
but like, my oc has no inspiration really…
at the start I was just using blue and red with a basic ass base
but overtime I just kind of adapted it to a way that felt more unique, and more comfortable than the original look (he only wears a hoodie because they are the BEST.)
just kind of made him in a way that I can kind of relate to
-
-
media that I find I take a liking to
-
idk don’t ask me my character designs suck ass
-
Personal interests, it’d probably be that for most people. Depending on what I’m going for I’ll try and find reference material, other character designs, drawings etc
I might even try and make it in Heroforge or Gacha if needs be, for clothing ideas etc.

The same as everybody else’s answer

So the story behind my OC is,
I wanted to make a 1989 silverado, but for some reason I couldn’t find a dead on side shot, so I had to settle for a image of the truck that was slightly angled ( this was also the beninging of my current style) and when I finished it, I wasn’t to proud about it, because it stood out compared to my cars at the time that where normal side views. But when I posted it, ralph said he really liked the style of it, that made me feel just proud of the truck enough to make it my first oc, back when my oc was just an OEM C/K series with a lift kit.And yea, the rest is history
-
Replying to:
That’s why my OC holds a bit of significance, it’s the beginning of my style, the beginning of what defines me as opposed to everyone else. The silverado being my OC actually triggered me to learn more about GM so I could make my shit better, I learned how not all engines have dual overhead camshafts, I learned that torque converters are what keep a car from moving when the engine is on, I learned that the silverado wasn’t originally a model name, but a trim lever back in the 1970s 1980s (you would buy a 1987 chevrolet CK1500 silverado. not just a 1987 silverado) hell I learned that in the 1940s, GM was playing some sus cards and supplied the Germans with vehicles. But it’s all good now, they is under new management
I hope

QOTD
How do you go about making stickfigures? Do you put it in an entire project? Have multiple iterations of small edits saved to the project or your library?
𝟣𝟨 | 𝟣𝟢 | 𝟤𝟦
-
Basically how cluttered is it when you make a Stickfigure? What’s the setup looking like?
I’m thinking about setting this properly etc Site Log / DWD style, should I?
I need to get back on some stuff anyway for the Site Log and DWD, we haven’t even got a rota for this week ( to my knowledge ) ( for DWD )
-
well, for my spiderman stickfigures
they all just have lik a bunch of random names
they arent named properly since theyre just part of a movieclip so i havent taken the time to name them anything
they justh ave the name like
its a bunch of spidermans and peters and underscores and stuff somtehing like
spiderman_spiderman_spiderman_peter_spiderman_spiderman_head_1
and then i dont know what characters head that is
so i probably should take the time to do that.. but yeah theyre mostly in a movieclip so i have no need to import the parts-
Replying to:
Same, don’t get me started on my projects, I will literally have the entire thing full of all sorts of Stickfigure part iterations, sprites, reference material, drawings etc, I would clear it up but I don’t want to lose anything valuable.
I have like 50+ Stickfigure iterations of different parts lol
-
Replying to:
dude i feel the same way
my spiderman project is just like this entire project and ith as all of like the parts history for vulture
i lost the stuff for electro and scorpion i think, but im thinking that im gonna clear it all once i finish the rest of the sinister six cause like
its an endless endless scroll
theres like at most 5 different iterations of a part, but usually theres just 2-3 iterations
its crazy
-
-
-
i usually just have a single WIP file i work on until im done. rarely do i pull something out for copying and pasting later, or just in case i want to experiment. my library however gets majorly cluttered, just from me finding small changes i want to make after the fact, i can go up to “X name” (4) at times 😭
-
Usually I open a new project and create it, so I can check my progress later on.
My stickfigure naming convention is really lazy.
For example:
FPIUBody
FPIUBodyi
FPIUBodyii etc etcbasically I just add more ii’s to show how recent I made changes lol.
-
For my weapon packs (which is 90% of what I have worked on for a year or two) I spend a couple of hours researching the weapons and finding reference art – usually, I try to be historically accurate while also making it look cool. Then I import all of the necessary references into sprites and assemble the figures, usually takes a few weeks because I have more to do outside of SN, if I dedicate myself to it my figures really are not high quality and do not take too long. When they’re all done I create an appealing thumbnail and write up a good chunk of text to explain everything and provide insight for the submission before, well, submitting it.
For figures that are not weapon packs, I usually do some research and get references, create the figure, boom. But I don’t make too many non-weapon packs as of recently. -
What I do is (when I make a car) I find an image of the car either on Google or if it is in no limit, I get that car in no limit and snap a screenshot of it from the view I need, and then (depending on the image) I resize parts of it, typically the rear fender and wheelwells. Then I go to sticknodes and open a new project, and then make a sprite of the resized image, and then I go from there.
Now when It it comes to people, or guns or furries and shit, sometimes i use sprites sometimes I don’t, my sam and dean head rigs are traced, loona’s isn’t. My guns are traced, my food isn’t.
It’s just what works best for me.
Also lemon I wasn’t trying to insult you earlier it was just a misunderstanding

to be honest, im really proud of my spiderman stuff or that old story i was trying to write a while back, but since i havent worked on that old story id say my spiderman stuff
-
Sticknodes related? The 2205 Yamato and HMS Thunderchild definitely
Other?
Either Beating Splatoon 3 and the DLC.
Getting the Dom 1 in Twisted (Workin for the Dom 3).
Beating both Pikmin 3 and 4.
And there’s some other things but I can remember -
In SN it would be my weapon packs. Seems like one of the few things that actually made an impact from me on the site & app, pretty proud of that.
-
myself.
i like being able to be myself :3 -
Honestly I don’t really know, I don’t have much I take a lot of pride in really..
I geuss my sticknodes cars? Minecraft stuff? Idfk

I love videogames

how much I’m improving in art I mean sure my fnaf stuff was decent but look at me now I mean I’m expressing myself ( I am hated all over the school by everyone outside my friend group for drawing furries more specifically Loona BUUUUT I don’t give a shit) and I’m happy with the new me and at least I have self worth.

Replying to:
Indeed, improvement is better off coming from a good place than a bad one. If you have no self-respect how can anyone else respect you?

What iconic Stick Nodes locations can you name? Or what backgrounds / locations can you think of that would be iconic?

Funny way to ask for places to add in the SNU bc you ran out of ideas lol
-
Replying to:
I’m not asking on behalf of the SNU, I have more than enough ideas for that.
That’s why I asked what people considered iconic places.
Mf thinks he has me sussed out, get the fuck out of here, Crystal-ball, predicting mf.

Stick Nodes Universe
It’s essentially the ‘official’ Stick Nodes Canonical universe however not much is known of it as not much has been put out yet, in time that will change but for now, it is the way it is.
-
Replying to:
Yk what would be a cool addition to the SNU? Time travelers. Not neccessarily time travel but moreover a stickman thats from the 2014 version whos glitched. A bug thats hardcoded. He just keeps changing between updates.
Would be cool but take ot with a grain of salt 👍
-
Replying to:
Kind of have something like that already to an extent. A lot of the ideas are quite well integrated so unlike common stories there are many possibilities for many things and all in all there is some good plot points and storylines planned.

STKM\'S Question Of The Day
Do you have any pets? If so, then how many and what kind? And maybe even tell their name-
I have two young homosapiens under my care, from the same bloodline lineage as me. One of them is chaotic, one of them is annoying. Both of them have evolved physically but have remained mentally redundant ever since they touched a iPad.
The way they adapt is from external stimuli from YouTube shorts.-
Replying to:
My mom had a few of those too

-
2 dogs and my brother I gave a dog collar and take out for walkies
-
A puppy and a dog, their names are uhm, questionable? (Milo and Chuchay, WHAT EVEN IS THAT NAME?!) Anyways, they’re at my grandparent’s house just chillin yknow, in fact it isn’t even mine, it was just given to me, I miss em :’) (btw the dog was pregnant, wonder how she’s feeling now)
-
There was a dog. She’s not here now. she was 16 years old.
