A Sticknodes Minecraft server
This is a Sticknodes minecraft server.
How do I join?
You request an invite here: http://sticknodes.com/groups/h/
If you are a regularly active member with a good reputation, and with an account at least 40 days old, you’ll most likely get in.
This supports both editions that are capable of joining servers, Bedrock and Java!
If you are on Bedrock, click add server, add “bedrock.Minehut.com” as the address, than do /join [server name]
Java players, add a server, join mc.Minehut.com, than do /join [server name]
Please note that it may take a week from now before I start accepting most invites, and the ones I do accept will become testers. The server isn’t fully finished however I wanted to make this group so I would have people ready to play once finished.
Once you are on tell me your minecraft user so I can whitelist you.
Why is there only 10 slots?
Minehut has a cap of 10 members for free users. I could do more by using another one, however I’m focused on performance, and the others could provide a very buggy experience.
I have a suggestion
Any suggestions can go in this group for now, but soon they will go in the discord server (not created yet, I actually wanna finish the server first)
How do I become a mod?
For the server: You don’t Infiniteguess will be the only moderator
For the group: You don’t, that role is for testers so they are easily identified as such.
Known Issues
It won’t let me go to the lobby area once I join the Minehut lobby server (as far I know this problem is java exclusive)
Leave, join back, and then left click AS SOON as it loads up, do not move your camera or walk or anything. Should work by the second try.
The tpa won’t work, I accepted it but I am not teleporting
Ask the person to send the tpa again (or you send the tpa again if you were the one who sent it), sometimes it does this.
Also, if it says player no found, make sure that if they are a bedrock user you put the “.” (Punctuation mark) in front of their name.
I’m laggy
Might just be your device, however if it is relatively powerful and usually doesn’t have issues, please tell me in a post (Don’t report lag spikes or temporary minor frame rate drops, they happen sometimes and I can’t fix it, but they happen rarely)
When I do /join [server name], it just teleports me to the lobby
Just wait a little bit (like 45 seconds), and try again. This is usually caused by a server restart.

Oh boy
Time to spawn as a default stickfigure -

Alright, more progressToday I….
1.) Added a warp system, which so far you can warp to the town and hub
2.) Added the frame for the town which will contain the marketplace and such, and added the town board which gives info on the town (nothing on the own board yet). Added spawn protection and disabled mob spawning
3.) Fixed the Spawn protection not covering the entire hub
4.) Made the Hub Signs look better
5.) Removed the current Marketplace explanation so it can be reworked
6.) Tested things such as the dispensers which dispense the rule book and spawn protection (they were little and I could do it by my self, sorry testers. You’ll be called soon enough once the town and marketplace is completed or almost completed)
7.) Added a log to the server so I can view every action that takes place, this should help catch stealers and cheaters.
Will do some more soon.

How to join on Xbox and (maybe PlayStation)
Posting due to @kingstarsalt not knowing how and it being different on Xbox.
-
I would do this but I often use each server and don’t want to delete them, also I don’t want to change my IP
Sorry, unless there’s a different way I have to opt out
-
Replying to:
I’ll check.
Edit: Here, although it isn’t the best due to you having to always having it running on your device, it’s what I found
Will search for more alternatives if there are any
Also, you aren’t changing your ip, you are changing your dns, but I can see why you are uncomfortable with it, hopefully this alternative is satisfactory
Also I won’t be on right now due to me having to leave.

Alright, so the shop is actually not gonna be run by me, but instead going to be run by the community. But I will provide a little help.
There is going to be a market area in the town with a bunch of (plots) placed next to each other and on front of each other. Each plot would have a number, which would allow warping to that specific plot, which would be important later.
Each plot would contain a chest full of signs and a button that, upon pressing, would construct a booth that contains a bunch of chests. (It would be World guard protected so people can’t just mine these for resources)
You would take a sign from the chest and place it on the booth with your name. You also load your chests with the stuff you are selling, and then mark each chest with the item (or items) and price by using the free signs.
From here, there are two things you could do. You either
A.) just stand at the shop until someone come to buy something
Or
B.) Use Shop protection, which is activated via a lever inside the plot. Shop protection would create a barrier wrapping around the shop (and teleporting you out so you aren’t trapped) preventing players from being able to access it and steal loot. This is handy as it means that you are able to step away from the shop and play the game, and than when someone says they want to buy from you, you warp into inside your plot by doing the warp command and putting in the assigned number. Since this teleports you inside the plot meaning you bypassed the barriers, you can turn off spawn protection, getting rid of the barriers, and allowing the transaction to occur.
You may be asking “but what’s to stop someone from warping inside someone’s shop and stealing?”
Simple, I have a chat log that I would review each day, and if I notice someone who didn’t have a plot/had a different plot warped into a plot that they didn’t claim, the owner of the plot checks to see if anything in missing and if there is some stuff missing, that person is banned.
I already know how to do the commands necessary for this so it should be very easy to implement.
How do you guys like the idea, any suggestions?
Edit: Just realized I could create a stand teleports you out once you create it that has barriers surrounding it, two hoppers that lead to chests, one on the inside of the plot and one on the outside, so that the person buying from the shop says “Hey (user), come to your shop”, the seller does the warp command using the number system I mentioned earlier, the buyer drops the items into the hopper which leads to a chest on the seller’s side, they take it, than they drop the item that the buyer was buying which leads to a chest on the outside, so the buyer can receive their item.
-
Fuck, I just thought of a much better system that involves only two hoppers.
WHY!!!!!!!!

This may or may not relate to this post specifically but the problem I think I ran into with the realm is you can never be too sure who you can trust and who you cannot for a variety of things.
Some players will mess with others and the world a bit in a pretty innocent way, a bit of harm but not enough to make them tyrants, some commit and want to build farms and see their success, some like bending rules and manipulating what they can either for fun or success, some just straight up steal, hack / exploit etc.
It think if you set up a realm understanding who you invite is crucial as accepting everyone is likely a mistake, it was for me, especially given my investment to the realm. Not to mention many players just want to complete the game and nothing more so once you’ve reached that point it’s pretty much a no-go for much else, at least it was in the realm hence why I took it down along with the drama and my lack of attention to it.

I see,
I’ll make sure to only let people in that I trust, and make sure that proper safety measures are taken.
I wish I could get an anti-cheat, but the ones that work well with geyser aren’t all that good and could cause lag…
May you please tell me if anyone broke your trust in a severe way, that way I can avoid letting them into my server?

Wow that text is hard to read in the screenshot
Also it is impossible to break.
May you join the server and try to press the button to get a rule book? I want to see if non-server owners have the ability to do so.
Pretty trivial, I know, but it needs to be done.
Either you or @infiniteguess can do this. Please leave a comment on the results if one of you do this.

Also good news, just learned that when bedrock players join they have all the java content and are basically playing java edition, meaning I’m able to use java commands without worrying about capability.
-
Replying to:
It’s a recent thing too
Up until the latest updates (especially with 1.19), Bedrock was mostly it’s own thing but soon, some Java Features were added like visibly damaged Iron Golem’s and as of now, the door and trapdoor sounds have changed to those from Java

Attention grabbing text for when the testers see the pingYou guys most likely won’t be able to interact with the buttons to get the rule book, I’ll fox that tomorrow

I’ve decided to make this similar to Lemon’s realm, so this would include a town area that would be the spawn (well, once you are out of the hub)
It would include various shops, and some other stuff (I don’t know what else to add)
I wish I was able to use npc’s but unfortunately the server uses Java’s commands, meaning that I’m unable to spawn in npcs. (And I can’t on my bedrock account and do it as I don’t know how a bedrock exclusive mob would interfere with the crossplay) So that means I’ll just have a villager, which has the profession with what is being sold, and a pressure plate in front of it that teleports you to the shop area.
-
Saw it, looks cool
-
Actually scrap that, due to infinfiteguess’s idea contribution, I decided to leave the shops up to the players!
There will be an official market area where players set up stands (set up with the press of a button via command blocks most likely, than you just add the sign to claim it and say what you are selling. This way the area isn’t cluttered with vacant stands)

ProgressAlright, so far the server’s crossplay is confirmed to work, we have a working tpa system, a 2/5 complete hub with spawn protection, and two tester requests (I asked two different users if they want to be a tester, waiting for an answer).
I still need to add a shop, implement any suggestions you guys may have [if you have a suggestion for this server (a feature which I have not mentioned is in), please tell me in the comments], and I need to finish the hub. I also need to work on setting up the rules for the server as well.
Also testers, if you accept your job as a tester, (I sent comments to them asking them if they want to be testers, that why I didn’t mention them in this post) if you have any performance issues that you normally don’t have when playing minecraft, tell me. I might have to get lighter weight plug-ins than I have, although they aren’t really that big to begin with.
It may take a little bit to join the server, but that is just because it is starting up.
-
Also just to clarify this will just be survival server,
Also, should I make it so I respawn the Ender dragon every time a person first goes to the end so everyone has a chance to beat the game without going through the hassle of respawning it themselves, or should I not, so all the users have to respawn it themselves if it was already defeated?
-
Alright, we have one confirmed tester, infiniteguess.
I’ll ping you infiniteguess when I need something tested, (doesn’t need to be done the moment the ping is received, just whenever you feel like it)
Same for the second tester if he accepts

Just watched lemon’s video he made for his realm: https://youtu.be/IFfgh18NTi0
The shop is going to be similar to his, and I’m going to have a system familiar to the ferry thing, where yoy can get teleported to major or minor locations formed in the server for a fee.
Although I know how I’m going to the shop, I still don’t know how I’m going to make the economy balanced.
-
I’m having ptsd from that damn sn bedrock server
-
Replying to:
What was wrong with it?
And are you referring to Lemon’s old realm or was there another server I didn’t know about?
-
Replying to:
Back in the day, before lemon’s, there before I even had admin on the site… Sn had an official Minecraft server.
It was bedrock due to cross play and majority of users being mobile users. As time passed, people started using hacks, grief etc. So I became an admin there to deal with these stuff since Ralph trusted me enough.
So naturally you’d think, just ban them. Things took a drastic turn though as it seemed like you can’t do that on Bedrock.
I ended up trying to make an improvised ban system that relied on teleporting user rapidly between dimensions to softlock their game on loading screen. While that worked out, there were still other issues. People mining bedrock, barrier blocks, making illegal enchants, flying etc.
Shit was wack, as it was a back and forth battle with me trying to figure out command blocks on the go.
Griefing? Put up a whitelist that makes others go into adventure mode near it.
People then build above the affected area and bombed it with TNT from the sky. So I had to make a trigger to destroy any TNT in the region.
Then withers started flooding the spawn. Same as TNT.Even made karma system to keep track who might be Griefing by checking anyone near these events. And also some “unban all” button as bait in case someone went into command block room.
Ofc someone pressed it, no idea who though because when I checked it just said “offline user” instead of the name so that’s great.
But I bet it was u @malono-
Replying to:
ngl i didn’t know the server was around that long where you were implementing ban systems and shit lmao
in my head that server lasted 5 days and was just the equivalent of shitposting
-
Replying to:
Do I get paid for this
-
-
Replying to:
Well luckily this server, while supporting bedrock users, uses java commands due to being a java server, so I can use the ban command.
So hopefully I don’t meet the same fate as that server.
-
Replying to:
I’d still recommend checking if banning works via server console on your own account that’s what I did lmfao.
Anti-cheat plugins can also be neat if it is supported.
-
Replying to:
Ok, thanks for the advice
Anti-cheat plug-ins are a good idea, I’ll see if there are any ones that work with geyser.
Edit: It turns out a couple do!

Should I add a plug-in which removes damage caused by tnt?
I kinda want to to prevent griefing however minor griefing is allowed in certain situations in my server (wars between towns, which is a group of a minimum of at least 3 houses.), so I don’t know.
Should I or should I not?

(Or anyone who was in the realm who would happen to know this)
How did you make your economy system? Was it a plugin or series of commands. Also, how did the players earn money?
I want to make a shop but I don’t know how I should go about it, so it would be much appreciated if you would share.

Replying to:
I used a scoreboard command, execute command, give command, teleport command and clear command.
Scoreboard: These would log a set value of data ( Currency )
Execute: run a command or commands at an entity such as players, mobs or items.
Give: Would give items to the player by entering the name, data value and amount of the item
Clear: would clear any said items in the players inventory which comes in handy for selling items.
Teleport: teleport a player to a set of co-ordinates, X, Y and Z
Unfortunately the execute command has changed so I’m not familiar with how to use it and the rest was a lot of work too.
I can easily say the realm took quite a while to setup, not too too long but definitely a couple many hours.

Ok, thank you!
What items did you have on sale?
And did players earn money via playing time, selling items, or any other method?

Since you wanted to join and I already told you the server name, Read the desc and follow the instructions for the version you are on. I already told you it. But I had to delete the message so other people didn’t see it, so hopefully you remember.
If you see someone named BullyDog703, that is my brother.

Please note how early it is in its lifespan. That’s why there is so little. You are kinda like a tester to see if the server works.
-
Replying to:
It works, but the starting spawn is a bit janky, I can barely read the rules because of the invisible blocks preventing me from getting closer
-
Replying to:
There are only invisible blocks around the pressure plate, so just walk around them.
Actually yeah, I see what you mean now.
