A group to chat about and provide opinions and ideas to do with Epitaph’s new series ‘Tales of Brinthania’.
———————————————————
With no true main story, the series promises possibly infinite growth, providing diverse characters, funny humour, massive adventures and intense lore. Taking place within the isles of Brinthania, Jake and his friends will discover the lands many secrets from underground tombs, to forgotten islands to enormous castles guarded by fierce beasts; the adventures are endless.
—————————————————
By joining the group, you may help broaden this world and may even lay the foundation for an Episode or two. Please remember to not be too assertive or demanding as you may end up being ignored completely or worse. Try to be polite and respect the others here.
Looking forward to seeing you there!

I’m working on a boi that bears armor heavily based on Ebony Armor… that’s all I’m saying, the rest is a suprise
-
Since everyone is submitting so many ideas, I thought I’d try and help by making a structure for the series.
Season 1 – You get to know the characters and their personalities. It’s mostly filler, but with some lore. Small villain arc, or at least introduces a villian. Not a big one, but a small one, like a gang leader or something.
2nd Season- Get to know the characters a little more. Slowly add in lore. Much bigger, or possible full on antagonist revealed. (That’s all I really have.)
-
As long as this series is not like the CW flash then I will be fine
-
sounds like steven univurse

I think the Forest Spirit will be the first TRUE threat. However it’s been tweeked slightly. Instead of it ravaging the land and corrupting things, instead it despises that it’s plants, trees and animals are being used as mere tools by people adn trys to get revenge by expanding it’s forest and filling it with thorns and nasty creatures im the hopes that it can slowly smother towns in it’s forest.

City Idea- Manchistia
-
Land Idea – Braitnis
The top of the land is flat except for tiny holes all in the ground, the ground itself is gray and hard. Exploring the land is hard because of the acid rain that constantly peppers the land for almost all the four seasons, only in spring does it stop raining. Nothing can be found on the top of the land, but down below life has exploded. Plants, rodents, worms, some birds, and humanoids all live under ground, most rodents are no bigger than half a ruler, other rodents are about a foot, however only three types of rodents are dangerous. Plants are usually roots, flowers are uncommon but still can be found, only four types of plants are dangerous. The birds there are no bigger than a baseball, only two species can fly, and only one species is dangerous. The humanoids are about as smart as toddlers and no bigger than one, they are gray with hands shaped like claws, they’re mostly harmless and love sparkling objects. More info is being documented
-
So if Fallout 4 manifested into a singular area in Brinthania?
-
Replying to:
Sure, but there’s nothing just flat ground with tiny holes unless you dig underneath
-
Replying to:
Well if there’s acid rain, there has to be a cause to that and i think giant Termite tower looking tubes of encrusted Sulphur pumping out Sulphurous gasses into the air, dramatically acidifying the air and making not only the air toxic but the rain acidic as hell. There might be weird insectoid animals with hard chitin to resist the acid rain and modifyed lings to cope with the sulphur that life there, probably similar to a Cockroach and/or Centipede
-
Replying to:
No buildings or mutants
-
Replying to:
They’re not mutants, they’ve merely adapted, they would’ve been similar in appearance before.
And sulphur towers are naturally occurring pillars of solidified Sulphur gas that forms yellow, horrifically toxic Sulphurous rocks, though these are dramatised from being a mere crack in the earth to a steep tower because fantasy.
-
Replying to:
The towers don’t make sense, but I’ll add the creatures
-
Replying to:
1) the towers do make sense, watch a video on Sulphur mining and you’ll see the rocks formed if in a fantasy environment could form spires.
2) this is my world mate, i add what i say i want to add.
-
Replying to:
Alright then add that stuff

I have got a villain, and boy am I good at making those
his Name is Calyx
A nature spirit gone rouge and converted his forest(you can call the forest whatever you want) into a corrupted wastland filled with monsters and such
And the corruption will keep spreading, destroying all wildlife, unless jake and his freinds stops Calyx and his evil plansthis is kinda what he looks like

Kinda was expecting a stickfigure
-
Replying to:
I don’t know if you know
but I suck at making stickfigures, for now
-
-
Noice, i can imagine he has hoards of spiders, bats and wasps at his command
-
Replying to:
Yeah
But because of the corruption the wildlife look more, dead-

New land: Astrothundria. A land plagued with constant rain and thunderstorms. The citizens are cats, ironically, and they all wear raincoats and carry umbrellas.
-
Good reference
-
I’d rather restrict it to the current counties rather than jumping the gun while the barrel of the gun isn’t even made yet. It could be a small island though, maybe just off Shadow Gale or Haask.
I also imagine the people there with posh English accents, always saying things like ‘quite so’ and ‘tally ho!’
-
Boi let me do this s**t as a true Brit.
*Ahem*
Har Har, splendid day it is, mhmm quite so my jolly chap. I do say, would you be in the mood for a spot of tea? Ah, magnificent, I’ll put on the kettle, just in a pip my lad.-

If anything, the only thing that I’m legitimately proud of when it comes to this robot boi is his head… it’s the best head I’ve ever made… ever

He’s a bit too.., futuristic for this. May e try something more like a robot with parts that have been joined and given life through magic or something similar to a Dwemer steam robot from Skyrim

I have a suggestion for the snowy areas where Tlordrake resides: Isvali. It\’s a tundra-like area with a very small, isolated town that lives in a crater formed by Tlordrake before his defeat. Caves dot the landscape, and very little plant and animal life live out there. It\’s also super cold as you may have guessed, and an unprepared traveler could die within an hour.
-
Maybe the area is inaccessible till Jake and his crew manage to get some heat-proof stuff
-
Replying to:
The temperature can get to as low as -30’s (Fahrenheit) so they would need protection. And the townspeople may react to their appearance.
-
Replying to:
The townsfolk could be arctic foxes and stuff but with icicle manes and stuff so there’s a bit of magic to em’
-
Replying to:
I was thinking along those lines. Their somewhat Eskimo-like, so you’ve got thick coats for the cold, large log cabins, and stuff like that.
-
Replying to:
I was thinking houses built into the side of a glacier capped mountain with platforms held up by leafless trees
-
Replying to:
(Don’t mean to rain on your parade but I did the whole city in a mountain deal way back in the Sci-fi group.)
-
Replying to:
I’m actually making an animation set in the Sci-Fi group’s universe actually
-
Replying to:
(Neat!) I was also thinking of a guardian one of the wizards left in case Tlordrake ever rose again. It’s currently just a totem pole with some arms and a monstrous creature face on the top, but in case of danger, it turns into a beast and protects the town with its laser eyes or something. Maybe a force field.
-
Replying to:
Maybe it’s a giant Gargoyle
-
Replying to:
Even better. Gargoyles are awssome. They still could have that totem pole look to them, and maybe they’ve got icicles hanging from them, or their eroded, so it gives the appearance that they’ve been there for a long time.
-
Replying to:
how about their fangs, claws and the membrane of their wings are missing till they awaken and icicles take the place of the missing parts
-
Replying to:
Then they take flight, swooping down and breathing clouds of chilling smoke that freezes the victim and kills them by having icicles burst out of them.
-
Replying to:
That or severe frostbite. However a titanic dragon would still probably win in a fight. Though maybe the one in the village is just one of many, maybe 10, it’s just the other one’s were either buried in snow or were in faraway locations dotted around the capture site

-
Replying to:
I wouldn’t bang Angela IRL.
Besides, I’m a good person. I know that you have a boyfriend. I could never forgive myself if I had sex with someone who was in another relationship.
-
Replying to:
It’s fine, me and Joe agree that the lust to have sex with multiple partners is natural so we let one offs happen. If anything we’d rather BOTH join
-
Replying to:
I don’t care, ai still wouldn’t be able to forgive myself.
-
Replying to:
Even if it was you wanting to do me, I still wouldn’t be into that, even if I was bi. Because I don’t cheat on people, or be the reason that people cheat on there partners.
-
Replying to:
Like i said, me and joe don’t see it as cheating as we both know what’s going on.
-
Replying to:
Still! It’s against my morals as a human being to be the reason that someone gets cheated on, even if they don’t consider it cheating.

Also you’re a madman for not banging Angela

@epitaph200 Harvey should be a background character not a main one
-
NOt the reason I had
-
What, Harvey is a guy
-
Yeah, Harvey the Mouse
-
I beg to differ, i even intend on Harvey being the 1st character to join Jake’s posse (the characters slowly build up till they’re a nicely sized party, around 5 or 6). However Seth comes with Jake from the start.
I want Harvey to be the cleric, the healer of the team, casting spells to shield them from mass damage and to heal their wounds during combat. This is since he has a weak frame and would not fare well in full on combat, however he does weild a Rapier just in case things go haywire real f**kin’ quick.
-
Replying to:
Dude, out of all of them Harvey stands out the most, he’s way too shy, you even said yourself that he would run away from danger, and to me he just doesn’t fit in
-
Replying to:
Just cause he isn’t a combatant, doesn’t mean he can’t be a hero. Frodo Baggins can’t fight hoards of Uruks for s**t but he was still entrusted with taking the Ring to Mordor.
Harvey is similar in the way that he can’t fight but he’s helpful in other ways, whether it’s through providing cultural information, translating, sneaking, cooking, etc…-
Replying to:
I just don’t think he fits
-
Replying to:
I think he fits fine. I want the group to be as diverse and unique as possible, not cause of any annoying SJW messages but instead because i know their separate cultures and personalities can be the fuel to either a hilarious joke, a gripping side-quest or a thing to chat about while on the road
-
Replying to:
Conversations between the characters will help to shape them and the world around them, lore and carefully crafted exposition is key but pouring that s**t down people’s throats constantly is a mistake only hollywood could make
-
-
-
-
Replying to:
clerics use the power of a god to use their abilities
Which god does Harvey use?-
Replying to:
I just meant cleric as in healer, so more of a Vitalitymancer (mage of health)
-
-
-
is it just me, or do people not read descriptions?
-
That’s a blatant lie. cause if you had read Harvey’s description you would have seen male pronouns, therefor you would know that Harvey is male
-
reeeeeeeeeeeead
-
-
Hey @epitaph200 could we make our own character?
-
yeah. you could make an Anthro character for an Episode they could star in. they could be a sort of representation of you. according to the lore, SNM and Tales of Brinthania are technically in the same lore, it’s just that they’re separate dimensions, that’s why Jake appears in both this AND SNM and yet they’re both canon things, because he can utilise dimensional gateways. it’ll make more sense late season so for now, just kind of accept it.
-
Replying to:
what does he use to travel through dimensions?
-
Replying to:
ancient portals constructed thousands of years ago by an unknown and EXTREMELY advanced race. not Forerunner levels of super tech but similar, no floaty s**t though, but there’s lots of robots, lasers and kewl sci-fi armour involved.
-
Replying to:
Unknown and EXTREMELY advanced race…
It’s Utopians isn’t it-
Replying to:
nah, Ancient Utopians come from the SNM dimension. the ones in Tales of Brinthania will either appear EXTREMELY late season or never at all. i’m thinking of giving them an Ultra Recon Squad sort of style with lots of oddly shaped architecture, showing they didn’t originate from that dimension.
-
Replying to:
You don’t have to use this name but I think you should call them dozians
-
Replying to:
That feeling when it’s always the ancients that are the most advanced… always
-
Replying to:
I feel like that’s a cliché
-
Replying to:
Just cause it’s cliche does not mean it’s bad in the right hands
-
Replying to:

anyways, I feel like this is almost a cliché that should never be used (ex: happy ending, last-minute power-up, etc.)
just my opinion
-
Replying to:
So you’re saying the key cliches to never use are happy endings and going f**king super saiyan at the last second?
-
Replying to:
yee
oh yeah and “ass-pulls” (achieving something when you definitely shouldn’t have)so basically don’t do a dbz
-
Replying to:
I don’t like DBZ so don’t worry.
From what you’ve seen of SNM so far, you should know I’m better than that
-
Replying to:
jokes on you
I still haven’t seen any of SNM
-
Replying to:
Watch it already
-
Replying to:
never
-
-
Replying to:
I know Episodes 1 to 3 aren’t that good but believe me when i say the later episodes are the s**t
-
Replying to:
nah I just don’t feel like watching it
-
Replying to:
It’s the perfect example of how animations SHOULD be done, being as it is practices what i constantly preach
-
Replying to:
imma guess it’s more realistic-like fighting
-
Replying to:
Nah. It’s about 30% battling, 10% intense lore explanations, 40% comedy, 20% other.
Honestly it’s hard to truly pinpoint what it’s like in words aside from ‘it’s quite literally like a feature length movie’
-
Replying to:
nah I just mean the battle style
-
Replying to:
Oh, well yeah, the combat isn’t as ridiculously fast paced as Vamracks but it isn’t as slow as Ralph’s. It’s at a realistic pace. Every attack has a windup, characters are greatly affected by gravity and physics, etc.
It makes the fights great because the characters are at a much greater risk-
Replying to:
rip scarf figs if they appear in your series
-
Replying to:
Yeah, they might in Aftermath, though they’re extremely unintelligent, hence why most Rouxians are also dimmer than a hallway in Skyrim. So Scarf figs will summersault and end up breaking their neck
-
Replying to:
and get hanged
right
-
Replying to:
That especially. I think as one of the jokes, there’ll be a vally of scarf users who’ve been hanged by their scarves. When a character asks why they all committed suicide, another character will reply that they were merely jumping around, punching eachother for hours straight as usual and eventually they all ended up getting snagged, now we’ve got this place
-
Replying to:
will you blow up the scarf store if there is one
-
Replying to:
Definitely

might make a fig of SummerQuartz Castle and few rooms in it so i can start this series.
though of course Episode 11 of SNM is top priority
-
@foxinater101 how\’s that map doing?
-
m’lord i present the “the phantom paladin” who lives in haask he once was a arena champion every fight he one he would always yell “bring them on this isnt your sisters pillow fight!” He was a noble and honorable warrior but he was killed by a group of skilled thieves called “eyes from above” these thieves also had a head chief a man of magic.
The paladin has been turned into a phantom he suffers the world unable to feel human and can’t feel any emotion. he sits in his throne waiting to be happily slayed so he can finally have his eternal slumber.-
maybe he was supposed to die but the Thief chief captured his soul or something so the Soul has to be freed in order to let him go to his afterlife. however, he’s a phantom as we now thus meaning Jake and .co will have to defeat the thieves FOR him. maybe they get rewarded his Gladius (his sword) in return for the task.
