Clementine Kahel was born in Mistral. Aggravated by the rampant greed, corruption, and deforestation in service of expansion. Along with the heavy presence of bandits, simply existing within such a place made her sick to her stomach. She trained under tutorage of her mother and applied to Beacon. Hoping to return to her homeland and root out the evil seeds planted within.
Clementine may appear calm and collected around her friends and allies, but deep down she is an incredibly vengeful person. She has a monochrome view of life, with few shades of grey. Any transgression against her moral system could mark someone as irredeemable in her eyes. Her anger is abundantly clear against bandits. Some say she fights using blunt weapons to stop herself from expressing said anger as lethally.
She fights using dual kali sticks. No tricks, no gadgets. She carved and decorated them herself. Her slim frame combined with her refined physique allow her to take opponents head on.
Her semblance allows her to convert her aura into photosynthetic energy that she can use to accelerate the growth of plants. She can manipulate this energy to form plants into differing forms and shapes.

Tawny Moon was born in Mantle. Her father dying while serving in the Atlas army, and a grim attack that led to the amputation of her left leg made her mother very protective of her. Inspired by her father she always wanted to become a protector, either by joining the Atlas military or by becoming a huntress. After years of tinkering, she invented her own personal aviation system, and managed to convince her mother to let her apply to become a huntress. Unable to bear the thought of her daughter sharing the fate of her late husband, she opted to apply Tawny to Beacon instead of the Atlas academy so she wouldn’t be swept into it’s military.
Tawny is an incredibly excitable and manic girl. Ready to go on passionate rants about her interest at moment’s notice. she treats her team as if they were her siblings.
She fights like a jet. Using her own personal flight pack to fly around the battlefield and dominate it from above. Attacking with twin turrets mounted on her back. She unfortunately hasn’t unlocked her semblance, but her pure aerial combat genius makes up for it.

Slate Washburn was born the heir to a shipping company in Mistral. At the age of sixteen he convinced his father to dedicate their surplus ships to rescue efforts. Their first operation resulted in the rescue of Pearl Navi from her wrecked ship. As he continued his rescue efforts, he realized his passion was in the assistance of others, and aspired to become a hunter along with his friends. Due to the faunus discrimination in Mistral that affected one of his teammates, he decided to apply to Beacon at the more progressive kingdom of Vale.
Slate carries himself with a veneer of self confidence to hide his actual lack of it. Feelings of inadequacy stemming from his privileged background leaves him with a sense of impostor syndrome. Never fully believing he’s earned his place as a leader.
Slate fights with a loose and agile style. Dodging and taunting his opponent to aggravate them, while sneaking in strikes with his hatchet. He values attrition tactics when leading his team. Distracting human opponents on the frontlines while his teammates pick them off one by one. When dealing with grim he uses scorched earth tactics, hanging back to catch stragglers.
Slate uses a hatchet passed down to him by his father. It’s a standard woodcutting hatchet with a barrel at the top that fires shotgun shells. Slate’s semblance allows him to share aura with someone via a handshake. Their maximum aura amounts combine, and if it breaks for one, it breaks for both.

For their fairytales, I hopefully made it clear for most of them. But I’ll state it outright for clarity’s sake.
Pearl is based off of Captain Ahab of Moby Dick. I think it might be the most off pick out of all of them. I wanted to create a character around revenge and he was the perfect model, especially with his obsession with a beast.
Rumo is obviously based off of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Christmas tales (in my opinion, I haven’t read in detail many other RWBY OCs) are kind of untapped for character potential.
Pahi is the little match girl. It’s actually why her weapon is named Heera (Diamond), because Diamond match packs? Get it? It also informed her semblance, it’s not her grandmother, but her moms good enough in this case. We’ll just say her mom takes after her grandmother a lot .
Lilac is based on Rapunzel which is definitely a tale that has been done a lot, but it doesn’t matter who did it first as long as it’s good right?
and slate as briefly mentioned in Pearl’s backstory is going to be based off of George Washington. His entire team is going to be based off of American legend hence the title Stripe.

Lilac Carmine is the fourth member of team PRPL. She’s 17, and her main color is lilac purple.
Lilac was born in Mistral. After her family was killed by a small group of bandits, the leader took her in, and raised her as her own daughter. After years of arguing, she had finally convinced her adopted mother to let her formally attend a huntsman academy.
Lilac is socially inept. She’s only ever known her bandit family, and as such, has no clue about social customs outside of banditry. She misses social cues and is unintentionally rude sometimes. But she really is caring, and wants nothing but the best for her team.
Lilac wields dual sais, named Lock and Key* (*Only Key is depicted in this reference). She uses a blitz style of combat, barraging her opponents with quick strikes and stabs before retreating with her semblance. She loads Key with capsules containing her cut hair, allowing her to teleport wherever it is. She’s a total glass canon, her aura breaking within 1-2 good shots. She avoids this using her insane mobility.
Lilac’s Semblance Lavender Cloud. By using a hand signal, she can turn her hair into a smoke like substance, in which she can teleport inside any cloud thick enough. Because of this semblance she also grows an astonishing amount of hair.

Pahi Dhumra is the third member of team PRPL. She is 16, and her main color is plum purple.
Pahi was born in Mantle. She lived a middle class life, until her mother, who was a huntress, left on a mission when she was 4 years old, never to return. Her father was a logger, but without her mother’s income the two quickly slipped into poverty. They chopped and sold firewood as a living, when one day they were attacked by Grimm while they were out. Pahi’s father tried to protect her, but he was outmatched by the monster. It was then when Pahi unlocked her semblance. A facsimile of Pahi’s mother suddenly appeared in front of her, and dispatched the Grimm with ease. After this incident, Pahi wanted to become a huntress to provide for her father. She trained under a hunter who was a former associate of her mother’s, but her training was cut short when her tutor was killed by a Grimm out in the wild. Not letting this turn of events discourage her, she made the long journey to Beacon academy.
Pahi is a very social person, but she’s not necessarily confident. She’s self deprecating, and highly dependant. She likes to push others to pursue their goals, but is doubtful of her own abilities. Pahi relies on Rumo, much like an older brother.
Pahi wields a bo-staff named Diamond. It doubles as a staff for walking and combat, and a flame thrower, able to spit fire out both ends. Pahi is the least capable in combat. Shes weak, and light, without any real mobility abilities. She has the second weakest aura on the team, second only to Lilac.
Her semblance is Maternal Apparition, which allows her to summon a facsimile of her mother. This summon is quite powerful, far more powerful than any member on team PRPL. It does not speak, and has an ill defined face. It also glows, and warms the area around her.

Rumo Neve is the second member of team PRPL. He’s 17, and his main color is red.
Rumo was born in Argus as a bastard child of a human and a faunus. He was then orphaned as a baby. Growing up in a foster home, Rumo always felt alienated. Although his foster mother was also a faunus, all of the foster children besides him were human. He was regularly bullied at his local huntsman academy, which eventually led to a fight that got him expelled. He then transferred to Beacon to continue his training.
Rumo was shy as first, but after bonding with his team, he’s become more outgoing and confident. He’s an incredibly dependable person, who jumps at the opportunity to help even at his own risk. Hes best friends with Pahi, the third member of team PRPL. They’re close like siblings.
Rumo wields a rocket-lance named Comet. He uses it to fly in and out of combat. He swoops in to thrust at his enemies, giving him the highest penetrative power on the team. He’s far less comfortable in close combat, where his thrusts lack power. He sometimes uses his antlers in combat to keep opponents out of range, thought this is a tactic Rumo isn’t proud of.
Rumo’s semblance, Leading Light, makes his body glow a bright red light. Due to it’s limited combat applications, Rumo regards this ability of his quite useless.

i saw “semblance” and thought it was rwby related, then the team name and “argus” of course…
that’s neat as hell tho I mean, the story/design/weapon all fit perfectly in the RWBY universe
you should post these on the rwby subreddit or something as well, you’ll probs gain some traction because this is legit artwork

Pearl Navi is the leader of team PRPL. Shes 17, and her main color is navy blue.
Pearl was born in Patch, but she only ever remembers the sea. She was taken aboard a boat when she was young and travelled with her father and his crew until she was fourteen, when a gigantic Grimm destroyed her boat, killing her father and her entire crew. Ever since this day, shes vowed to hunt down the Grimm that killed her family.
Pearl is a serious and abrasive person. She isn’t very open about her thoughts and feelings, even to her own team. When she does warm up, she tends to show affection in a teasing way. Riffing and joking about her friends. Pearl has a soft spot for a boy named Slate, who was apart of the rescue team that found her lost at sea. He leads team STRP* (*pronounced “Stripe”), and they talk about leadership often.
Her weapon is her robotic arm, nicknamed Poseidon. It can launch out and hold onto things like a grappling hook. In the forearm, there’s a retractable machine gun that fires dust bullets. Pearl fights hand to hand with a puglist boxing style. She is the most effective fighter on her team, boasting good mobility with her grappling hand and high striking power and defense.
Her semblance is Deep Blue. This changes her iris to a deeper blue, and changes her mindset. She becomes outwardly emotionless, and this ability allows her to execute a goal in the most practical, rational way possible. It doesn’t matter if the goal itself is irrational, as long as it’s possible.
