Normally I don’t like to vent because I like to keep things nice and simple. So this will probably be my only vent.
What I really dislike is when people use abbreviations like “lol”, “ikr”, and “gtg”. I know it’s quicker and easier to type that. But come on, why can’t someone just type “I got to go”, it takes like one extra second. And this could only be me, but whenever I see people do this I think of the person as if they were younger, like around the age of thirteen or something. This also leads into the second part of my vent. I really also dislike it when people use TOO many emojis in a text/message. One or two is fine, but you don’t have to post five or ten of them.
I added the emoji part because most people I know that use abbreviations also use a lot of emojis in one text/message. Like I said it could only be me, but whenever I see someone use abbreviations and the mass use of emojis I think of them as a younger person.This has been my terrible rant. Thanks for reading.

I absolutely despise people who shit on animation and call themselves an animator just cuz they do separate drawings and call it an “animatic” like bitch do understand the meaning of moving pictures? They just annoy me so much, heck, even got into an argument about animations and animatics, they might be different in some way but they do include moving frames. Drawings that have a character move their mouth open and shut is not the same thing and stop saying it’s an animatic cuz it’s a goddamn slideshow you person.
Honestly most these people make those “animation memes” and i have no problem with people who do that, i do it sometimes, i enjoy it, my friends like it but people who just shit on others and say it’s animation and criticize other people who DO animate just annoys me a lott

it’s an absolute shame that animation wasn’t what it used to be before, especially in youtube
I remember when claymations, stop motions, 2D paper drawing, stickman animations, and flash animation thrived on the platform, but youtube’s algorithm shift forced change, thus alot of these types of content creators got lost in the sands of time, while others adapted into these storytime “animators” or animation “memers”, or finding success in a different field
Now that the algorithm favours people like this, alot have tried doing so but put way less effort into them by just drawing animatics rather than, well, animating them.
It’s such a shame that you probably can gain an audience through lazy animatic memes, or “””””animated”””””” storytime videos, and it sucks
It also doesn’t help that rarely do we sticknodes animators get popular outside of the community, alot of our audience are just fellow sn animators, and just subscribe out of comradery rather than legitimate interest
It sucks and youtube sucks harder, but we gotta make do with what we have right?

There’s also lhugeny, i don’t recommend watching him because he’s just a bland formulaic ‘make a song about something popular and animate it very shittily’ content creator with a very shitty artstyle and palette choice that it makes me want to rip my eyeballs out and throw them in bleach, it’s the only reason i really remember him, the songs ain’t even that good, that comes from someone who loves music

How you ever seen like deleted scenes on a animated movie or something? That’s what an animatic is. An animatic is basically a test run, you have the key frames so the animators can get a feel for the angles and the pace of the scene, it also helps the sound designers get the audio cues right.

It’s a literal hivemind of the same jokes. Over and over and OVER again. I barely see any kind of unique or well thought out joke in this site. The people here barely know how to animate jack shit and shit on nearly everything that’s done by popular base animators. A lot of my friends genuinely hate this site because of the community behind it being literally one of the worst. To me, this site is literally just Reddit’s bad qualities mixed in with Sticknoders. I hate it. I genuinely missed when I had actual fun while interacting with this website, but with the community slowly dwindling into shitty trends and horrible memes, it feels like that fun’s been long gone. I’ve been on this website ever since the Community Activity page has been opened, and it sucks that there’s barely any sort of genuine fun stuff that’s being done here nowadays. Honestly, I agree with the majority of these points. I genuinely miss the good old days of the site, back when it wasn’t as cringy. Being a SN veteran, I’ve pretty much seen the rise and decline of the Site’s community, and it kind of makes me sad. Back then, it was a simpler, better community.
Due to this, I’ve been genuinely curious about how the other subcommunities function. I seem to hesitate whenever I think about it, though. It may be because of my shy/introverted nature, but I dunno.

The older days of the site just seemed a bit less chaotic in my opinion. Back then, toxic users were rare, people weren’t blocking one another for dumb shit, and things seemed relatively peaceful most of the time.
Don’t get me wrong, I recognize and accept the fact that communities will change over time. That’s a fact that this community taught me as I watched it grow and evolve over my many years here. The constant change, along with the many friends I’ve made here, are the main reasons I’ve bothered to stay with this community; rather than dropping it like some of my friends have.

everyone uses them, might as well adapt
tbh i’d think anyone who doesnt use them is a serial killer or just some edgy kid trying to act mature
it just makes you look like you’re always too serious or trying to adapt to the english language if you always avoid these abbreviations
