Info : AM2R is a Metroid 2 PC remake made by Game Maker Studio . It came out in August 6, 2016 and was well greeted but disapeared because of nintendo.

review : I discovered and finished AM2R 2 or 3 years prior and I recently did another playthrough sinc I’m quarentined , and ho boy , I have things to say !

The graphics : ****-
The graphics of AM2R are very nice and colorfull. It’s similar to Zero Mission but they added effects like blur or oppacity.
They also put a seting to change the colors of the game like if you where playing on a GameBoy or a VirtualBoy.

Music and sounds : ****-
The musics are moderne remakes from Metroid 2 , and they are as good and memorable as Super Metroid’s OST. Some of the sounds are similar to Zero Mission or Fusion’s sounds and they stick well with the game.

The map : ***–
AM2R’s map greatly respect Metroid2’s map and add 2 more zones : a ship (optional) and a water based area (obligatory). All ghe zones are greatly reproduced and the news greatly fit in. The deves added a fast travel between zones but it isn’t as practical as a teleporter

The gameplay : ****-
It’s very similar to Zero Mission’s and add other Metroid’s powerups like the speedboost , and they fit greatly in the game.

The ennemys : ***–
The ennemys are greatly reproduced but lack a beter moveset since most of the ennemys and bosses have 3 or so attacks.

Conclusion : ****-
It’s a great Metroid , I recomand it to you even if it has some anoying points , that’s still a great game.
