Friday, May 24th.
insert_witty/title.txtIt’s another Friday, with summer on the horizon and temperatures rising in the south. I live in Texas, and it’s like being on the front lines of the heat. I really miss autumn. In site news, we’ve got a neat sprinkling of all the things and spices that make for an interesting day. Creativity, discourse, and the wonderful toxic chemical that makes for a healthy meal— drama! Mild drama, but still a bit of a revelation. Nonetheless, it’s not unlike other Fridays and many Friday’s to come. Another day in our little shared, crammed dorm room of a niche internet site.

You’d think we’d learn from when thousands of people died in a global pandemic, but guess not.

That’s one cool character design.

https://sticknodes.com/members/jadee/activity/1672951/Goes to show that you shouldn’t live out lies. You can fake it till you make it, but eventually people notice. Don’t vicariously live through your lies and a fake persona, kids! Moral of the day.

I love pugs. They look just so stupid and so lovable.

Uroboros was heavily inspired by The Last of Us: Part 2, which is part of the reason It’s currently postponed. I wanted to step away from the inspiration and try to create something wholly original. When I do pick up Uroboros again, it’ll be far from what it once was. …In a good way.0️⃣2️⃣
Maybe? He’s in the new project, but I can see how I could easily fit a duck into it. Caiman always has it rough, no matter the iteration. He needs a duck.0️⃣3️⃣
I just love lizards. It’s something that started with my fascination with dragons, birds and stuff. Maybe because of Toothless from HTTYD. Nonetheless, I always just liked the little guys. I cannot tell you why I named myself Anomaly— I have no clue.0️⃣4️⃣
Anxiety’s a bitch, yeah. Still dealing with it in small amounts every day, but it’s gotten easier. I just take it a day at a time.0️⃣5️⃣
I think a lot about voice headcanons so this is actually pretty hard. I’ve always had Caiman’s voice in the back of my mind, and he’s always sounded like Nolan North to me.0️⃣6️⃣
…Probably never? With Louise and some of my figures, they were done for artwork’s sake. I wanted to expand on their designs and give her a needed revamp, never planned to do anything with it just yet. It’s being used, though. Ain’t laying in the dirt with Uroboros.0️⃣7️⃣
I grew up with YouTube shows like Asdfmovie, but they faded after a while and never really did anything for me. One show that always stuck with me was Alan Becker’s Animation vs Minecraft. I would spend weeks waiting for the next episode of his Minecraft series. Came back for Season 3 and enjoyed it all the same. Classic.0️⃣8️⃣
Uroboros is postponed, but with my current project I have the outlook of being able to finish the story over the Summer. From that scope and its genuine announcement, I’d give it about nine months for the first installment.0️⃣9️⃣
Yeah, I’ve considered it heavily. It’s definitely what I want to do legitimately. Haven’t really put a nail on exactly how I want to apply it, but I do know I want to be a storyteller.1️⃣0️⃣
Pizza, definitely.1️⃣1️⃣
Really can’t choose. Generally just fuck large food companies, I’m all about local businesses.1️⃣2️⃣
Mitski! I love her music so much, it really helped me get through a lot. Music is how I process a lot of things, big and small. Whenever it’s big, I’m usually listening to Mitski.1️⃣3️⃣
I want to make something meaningful. More than anything, I want to create something that matters. People will read or watch something I helped create and see the meaning, see the story and have it have some effect on them. It’s a dream of mine to have someone tell me something I wrote that made them happy, or emotional. Make a mark. Maybe not even that, just a dent. Make something.1️⃣4️⃣
Theme! It’s not imperative for every piece of media, but I love when a story ties together through the message it wants to tell. Even if it’s so subliminal that it requires multiple viewings, that makes it special to me. It’s meaning, intrinsic and cared for. A story without well-written themes is a story stuck in a thick mist. The last show I watched that nailed this for me was Blue Eye Samurai. It had so much work put into every small detail, all baked into the themes. That’s why my newest project is taking so long to reveal. I’m working on tying it all together.1️⃣5️⃣
I think from my answers to the previous questions I answered this for you by accident. To explain, it isn’t a prequel, or a sequel, or even a spin-off. It’s something new, but it has some of the same characters. Different concepts, substantially different themes. It excels everywhere Uroboros couldn’t. There’s a reason it’s kept secret, though. I just wanted to keep it feeling small for now because when everyone knows, that\’s pressure and unneeded anxiety. I can pace myself as long as it stays secret, but if it’s not finished when it’s revealed, I’ll end up letting it slip away and become another corpse of a story. Another dead story that showed promise and died. Just like Uroboros.Until it’s fully written, it stays secret.
Anyways, happy to answer your questions! Always a treat to talk to you and talk about the things I’m making.
