Op is actually correct. When reviewing for example another damn m16 rifle, it often won’t be accepted anymore. You’d be suprised about the fact that godzilla sticks are one of the most popular uploads, like… Every day or two. Its gotten a bit out of hand.

the smear, very much so. you can also smear the entire arm rather than just hand.

Why do I have a feeling I did this sort of typo and wasn’t aware, nor ever will be of it.
I swear, this thought will come back to me few months later and haunt me again.

They better be having a custom thumbnail or such.

Oh nonono, I am actually not even coding the app.
Ralph is actually the only one doing these sort of stuffs lol. Most of the time all I do is either take a look at the site in my spare time, or just break the app if he ever (almost never, its been months so i am assuming he didn’t code much lol) makes some sort of beta branch.
Oh yeah and I also tend to anwser things for him, did that even before being an admin, so…

In conclusion, use smears when it’s necessary to convey the movement and arcs. Researching on principles of animation and other tricks is quite useful.

while i appreciate the dedication to using smears, it also depends *when* to actually use them.
I see people use them for run cycles, most of the time… Just don’t.
Smears aren’t used as an indicator of objects moving fast. They are used to make us be able to see an object quickly move from one place to another. It is not speed indicator, it’s an easy way to prevent object from teleporting from point A to point B.
Here’s an example of with and without smear frames:

there is no *best* framerate to use, it all depends on personal choices based on style and skills.
around 15 can be considered smooth enough to convey motion, while also being good at not putting too much stress on the animator itself.
24 is the usual standard for animation.
30 is theoritically the requirement for “illusion of movement”, mainly used in movie production.
60 fps, don’t ever use it for animation unless it is 3D graphics and you have broad understanding of animating and are fully and stylistically aware of what you’d go for. -

if it is a gif then yeowch, make sure it is not tweened, or at least not using that many inbetweens. Fps is huge factor in these.

its dope as hell but it really needs just a bit more fps imo

I was just curious about a previously announced update
Haha, imagine SN PC.

its fine really, no pressure.
You’d be suprised that I was once a user of the app like 2 years ago that hosted a small fan group on Amino for Stick Nodes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Since Ralph is currently abroad I am guessing, he won’t anwser so soon.
I don’t exactly know at what stage this feature is but we did had a few talks on what would be accepted, as it would consider more of usefulness criteria and be generally stricter.
While enabling button to submit these wouldn’t be an issue, it would be planning how to tackle this and loads upon loads of submissions that 96% of them would be either random movieclips or walk cycles of a basic stickfigure. Not to mention people stealing effects from /stickfigures/ page and compiling them into movieclips as their own…
As of this moment I know that sprites are a big plan currently, maybe movieclip submissions would come with it but who knows.
It’s mainly just managing submissions while working on the site and app simultaneously.
