The site is what it is and people have set their bar too high for it. It lacks content now or so users say and yet most of them aren’t willing to put any effort into showcasing any animations.
Replying to:Ardanothing serious you say?
oh man i tought it was dying.
It may be dying because users are going and by my own and maybe others definition of the site dying (lack of users) than yes it is dying although as for reason why that is, it is purely the community’s fault for kicking it down.
Anyway I’m judging all this from my own perspective which isn’t very clear. I’ve been offline for most if not all of this debate i’m only familiar with the basic concept of what is going on and why.

it’s a community, you dont really need to impress too much or showcase. the memes here have just genuinely gotten dry or too obnoxious, a lot of the newer posts don’t have that much content to them, there isnt really anything to showcase considering there’s better things to focus on especially with what’s going on with the world right now.
nothing too notable will happen, only a few people will end up being fairly inactive. but setting the bar too high isnt the reason for it. it’s because of the fact that there’s not much to entertain users actively on the site anymore other than a few small things like arcade fighters or the occasional good stickfig / animation.
i’m basing this off numerous testimonies i got from friends, who i won’t mention for the sake of not dragging their name into a possible argument.

No no I wasn’t trying to bring out an argument in this debate I was just judging it all from my perspective.
Keep in mind I haven’t been online over the past two days long enough to notice what has been going on. So please excuse that.
I just thought it was a case of people on the internet wishing for ‘bring back the good old days’ sort of ordeal.
As for content like collabs or whatever else I agree. Than again the only way that can be changed is if we have more users willing to create collabs and events.
those that stick around will get to have cake later so that’s a plus

in all seriousness nothing is happening a couple ppl are leaving (bet they will be back watch) but as of this moment there are 70 logged in users and 370 guests on the site so it’s hardly “dying” and in fact is at record levels of hits this month of May
SN will only grow stronger as time goes on until we corner the stickfigure market

it’s not really a “bring back the good old days” anymore
the older people just got tired of it, but i get where you’re coming from
the good collabs and content rn are private and non-site stuff, i’m in a few upcoming good ones, public collabs just sorta died out
It’s a-shame really although change can still be made.
We’ll see how it all pans out.
people outgrow things
it happens all the time
