if ur name is supposed to be the firearms manufacturing company, it’d be spelled “Beretta”
“Baretta” is a TV show that aired in the 70’s-

I see your point epitaph… I understand, you take animation very seriously to different point of view… But you still gatta understand that animation comes from the mind and not a detailed manual..

Basically something I didn’t spend so much time on

Why not spend your time better by making an animation with advanced figs, Interesting backgrounds and the main ingredient, an interesting plot, like the StickNodes Movie

As you can see, epitaph. I’m sure this animation was for practice or for fun. Not a f*cking university project. His animation skills are better than yours in every way
-
Replying to:
You’re arrogant of the fact that making a base fig jump across a black background punching stuff is not good animation. To consider yourself a good animator, you must master EVERYTHING. Fights, plot, design, everything. I only consider myself as ‘decent’ because i still need to work on fights, horror and other things.
-
Replying to:
Wtf? Plot has nothing to do with animation. Animation is simply making an illusion of a puppet or a drawing show movement. And I never said that he was good, he was better than epitaph because all epitaph knows how to animate is basic movements but, this young laddie is trying to incorporate choreography, he’s scratching the surface. Fight choreography incorporates easing, flow, anticipation and spacing. You may not really see most of this in this guy’s anim, but it’s still burried in here.
-
Replying to:
i know easing, i know flow, i know techniques.
plot has very much to do with an animation. you see, if you’re only making fight scenes and nothing else, you’ll only ever get good at action and NOTHING else. that is what classifies as a bad animator.
a good animator is somebody who can do, as i said, EVERYTHING. they can make an animation with an interesting plot, relatable characters, diverse design and good visuals. making your animation silky smooth is only 10%, to get that other 90%, you need to learn everything else.
so if you can do a better fight scene than me, boast all you like cause you’ll never be a better animator than me because i can actually consider everything else. i take this s**t very seriously, i look at it as if i was making an actual film, i stay professional.
so don’t call me out as worse than these generic scarf users till you actually do some research on filming and movie making.

I think you’re getting animation and cartoons mixed up. I guess the plot does give the animator more things to animate. I’m not the ultimate master or anything, but I’ve studied animation and I’ve gave constructive criticism before. Instead of giving needless comments to people who just wants to show off there animations to the community. You should do somethin’ else. Sorry if I got some mistakes in this text, I was typing this during class with my thumb and Constantine looking up so people won’t see
-
Replying to:
I sorta see that the animation community is lacking because of the lack of plot. Most Fight anims bore me as well because it’s missing the plot. But fight choreography does include a bit of a plot, say if you Made two people fight for a pizza slice. You can make char1 a kick boxer and char2 more of a lazy fighter.

1) cartoons ARE animations.
2) i was giving him an idea, you merely turned it into an argument.
-
Replying to:
Animation alone isn’t a cartoon
-
Replying to:
No you twit. A cartoon is a form of animation. Stop Motion is also a form of animation. I’m talking animation in general.

Im on epitaph on this one, as a former flash animator, i agree that you need to know what you’re doing to actually call yourself “good”.
You cant call yourself “good” if all you know is fights. But although that, fights are very complex parts of an animation too, you must make sure there is a cause for the fight, make sure that the viewer will understand whats happening, etc etc.-
Replying to:
this is exactly my point. like everyone, i love me a good fight scene but i will ONLY enjoy it if there is good reason for it. this is why Episode 9 of SNM is so praised; because it’s a fight that has been built up since the beginning, a fight with story and plot behind it, it actually carries meaning.
-

Wait theres an SNM 9 ? Ive only watched 1-3 wtf

Also make roux a better villain brov.
She has to have more intent than just rule everything.
The point of making a villain is that they have a vision of what they think is right for their standards.
Make the villain the same way you made the hero.-
Replying to:
she does. if you watched all the other episodes, you’d know that.

I just stated that icommend his skill however I won’t call him a truly good animator until he masters everything else. He sits in the SGA realm of ‘you’re only good at fights’

And somehow your 6 minute animation of a base tig wearing a scarf punching another scarf fig will make me believe it’s creative. My ass it will, the time of Scarf Users has come and passed, originality will eventually get the recognition it deserves and i shall make sure it happens
-
-
-
That’s where SGA sits though
-
Watch him even try to do something not even closely related to fights.
To be a good animator, you need to learn to intrest the viewer without relying on action scenes or other eye catchers.
You must immerse the view in your world, get them to know the characters, allo them to enjoy conversations rather thsn skipping over. -
Yeah, exactly that.
I don’t watch it but i know from clips that it’s freaking well made. Its the sort of skill a Scarf User will never obtain
-
-
Yeah..typo

How u do dat >:<
great animation
the only thing bothering me is the excessive camera wobble
I guess
action scenes were really nicely done
but I think you coulda did a little more camera action, like it felt too zoomed out for the entire animation
and all the talking/random pauses kinda killed the pacing :/ didn’t help having the super action music overlayed non-action for such a long time lol
Thanks Ralph… Will do
