Alright so let’s start on some basic information on the Giten, just as a cool way to introduce it. I’m gonna go the scientist studying it route to slowly reveal information about it until it’s true origins are known. Also here’s a cool fig for it

The Giten is (as far as this study is concerned) a hive mind creature composed of rapidly multiplying cells, It is like a cancer given consciousness and sentience, smarter than most humans or creatures are or will ever be. It is a space fairing organism, we have some clues as to where it’s coming from, however any attempts to venture out there is prohibited as of recent studies showing that this creature will take in any form of energy and use it to rapidly multiply. However we are looking into sending ROV’s out there and without any intentions to bring them back.

From what we’ve observed, organic material in contact with the Giten will begin to be broken down and it’s cells infected and replaced quickly with its own, assimilating the victim and adding them to the mass.

The Giten is very easily distinguishable; characterized by a large black mass of reflective slime. Sometimes it manifests false organs like eyes or nerves to feel and see the world around it, taking in sensory information and storing it in a brain that constantly sends information to the central mind. We are still looking into this, exploring possible communication opportunities with the current sample we have.
