sometimes I wonder if the imposter in an alien or not,
for all we really know, he could just be a crewmate with malicious intent. The tongue kill could just be a reference or just for the sake of being cartoonish.

People believe the crew mates know what they’re doing (which is pirate a ship) but are trying to get rid of the impostor so they can escape without dying. And there ability to kill shows the lengths they would take to get home with there ship, And of course have little babies.
