Regarding the head- the hairs are very sensitive and are actually used for hearing as he never bothers to form himself any kind of ear canal, so if he was bald he\’d also be deaf

Only clothing item he wears is his hat, the jacket/cloak/detective\’s uniform shirt thing his literally just his skin. He is a walking, talking sea sponge after all so he doesn\’t have anything to conceal besides the goop that is his insides

It was so it can be more expressive without needing 39383729288482873 bajilion different other sticks, and just be a single, highly expressive, head
