Well, let’s be honest here, even if Satoshi Tajiri (the creator of Pokemon) had lied about his obsession with bugs collection, I don’t think they’d keep an anime and game series coming out for years because of JoJo.
Literally just search up “did persona come out before part 3?” And bam.
Yeah, it came out after, so did Pokemon and YuGiOh, as a matter of fact all three came out about around the same time, 1996.
However, I’m talking about Pokemon
Another thing about Persona, it’s a spin-off of another series called Shin Megami Tensei, which came out around the same time as Part 3 ended

Read my lips, jojo part 3 introduced the whole “thing that fights for you” cliche (at least if it is a cliche or something similiar) into japanese media which gave the basis for the pokemon and yugioh animes (ash and pikachu, yugi and black magician) and inspired persona.
I think your forgetting Pokemon was a game before it was an anime
