A Civil War pistol would technically not be a flintlock, even if it wasnt a revolver but indeed just a single shot pistol, it would be a caplock, since roughly after the 1830\’s percussion caps were used for the mechanisms instead.

True Grit (2010)
You remember John Wayne? well, of course you dont, he was born in 1907.
Well, as it turns out, he made a movie back in the 70\’s that was an adaptation of an even older book, that got remaked in 2010 by those one guys that made No Country For Old Men, and damn did they do a good fucking job.
After an outlaw named Tom Chaney murders her father, a 14-year-old farm girl named Mattie Ross hires Rooster Cogburn, an alcoholic Marshall that helps her find Chaney and avenge her father, acompanied by Texas Ranger LaBoeuf, who is also after Chaney for his own reasons. The three of them travel through hostile territory to bring justice in the style of the Old West.
This movie is one of my guilty pleasures.
sure, it may not be the best western movie, Sure, tha character dialogue may not be profound and deep, and SURE, the story may have a slow pace.
but it\’s got a hell of a lot of charm, the way the characters all have unique weapons, and unique holster positions for them, and dear god does that just itch a sweet spot in my monkey brain!
Not only that, but the action is also extremely entretaining, please folks, give it a watch im sure you wont regret it.

tbf, remember that Japan spent like 200 years sealed off from the outside world and only really started catching up until the 1950\’s, i wouldnt be suprised if horse drawn stagecoaches were far more common than cars until WW2
