I gave up the \”add detail\” thing a while ago. Personally, I don\’t mind base fig characters, but I typically don\’t pay a whole lot of mind to them unless they have something unique going for them. (Like a unique ability, or an interesting visual aspect to them.)
Hell, I started out as a base user, until I was inspired by some of my fellow veterans. So yeah, I don\’t mind low-detail figs at all, really.

maybe time and schedules is an issue
Fair point, I have the time management skills of a potato lmao
And thanks for the positive feedback. I do still have fields of animation I want to improve on, though. For example, I\’ve recently noticed that I rely way too much on the Add Tweened Frame button, which isn\’t a good habit.
I\’ve also heard somewhere that a good way to help yourself improve as an animator is to watch other people animate via \”Speed Animating\”-type videos. Is that true?

I didn\’t say anything about people doubting me, though. People simply pointed out that my animating skills have decreased, and that\’s feedback I needed.

I\’m honestly starting to have second thoughts about being able to participate in this, unfortunately. When I first joined, I was confident in my animation ability, but…
Due to the several-month long hiatus I went on (Which was thanks to an unmotivated rut I entered during late 2019 that I\’m mostly done with), I\’ve gotten really rusty at animating, not that I was particularly great to begin with. And after some people pointed out some flaws in said rusty animation, it ended up taking a shot at my confidence. That isn\’t to say I can\’t take criticism, I\’m just looking at it in a realistic fashion.
Due to deadlines and whatnot that I may not be able to make, due to needing practice with animating, I may end up leaving Arcade Fighters. Considering practice time, along with the lack of tips and tricks I\’ve gotten recently, I most likely won\’t be able to make deadlines.
Thing is, I can\’t rush the practice either. I want to become a decent animator so I can make content that will effectively entertain others. After all, I have not one, but ????? separate series planned, and I want them to look as good as possible. So yeah, due to lack of confidence, lack of time, and lack of help, I\’m not sure if I\’ll participate.

Tl:dr who cares what other people say bruv do what you love and ignore the doubters

Ayo bruh chill. Season 1 is for simple looking figs. You have lots of time to prepare your boots for the 2nd one. You’ll get walking again eventually.
-
Holy crap u posted all that?
-
The best way to improve on animation is through trying out new things, you dont force yourself to improve, you just, do
Anyways about critiques and confidence shots, think of critiques as suggestions rather than an order, you can always turn down a critique if you don’t feel like it, but do so in a polite manner, and remember to keep it in mind so you may come back to it.
Anyways, it’s alright if you want to leave the project, it’s all just for fun anyways, but if you still want to participate, take your time, no rush, don’t pressure yourself

Yeah, I suppose that makes sense. Hence why more of my SN-related activities are on Discord, rather than the site. The posts here do tend to be pretty dry most of the time.

Sounds like piss-poor reasoning to me. I\’ve been here for 5 or 6 years and have yet to get bored with SN.
-
I legitimately don\’t understand why a bunch of people are suddenly making big announcements about themselves leaving the site. Seriously, I don\’t recall any drama or anything happening very recently, so what the hell is the big deal? They\’re just leaving for no reason!
I\’ve been here practically since the birth of the site, and I sure as fuck haven\’t considered leaving yet! Yet, there are a bunch of people deciding to leave for some reason, a lot of which haven\’t even been here for a year.
… The fuck?-
Kinda funny seeing it happen to others instead of me for once, dunno why. I mean I just returned last month so they’re probably just waiting for me to feck off
-
it’s not because of drama but it’s because posts are getting more and more dry and repetitive, it’s not really fun for the others anymore, you’re free to do whatever though

lmao

I’ve been vibing on the site since 2017 and I haven’t had a problem with it ever. Except maybe once when there were like 3 dramas happening at once but other than that it be pretty good to me.

In my opinion, trolls in these kinds of settings are some of the most unfunny and petty people you can find on the internet.
