try liquidity and try to match um responses with hits for liquidity let them move at the same time
well, lighting trails and hand-to-hand combat are two completely different things lmao
focus on the fighting first, first with one person if you’re not yet skilled enough in general animation in your opinion – simple movements, walk, run, crouch, jump, couple punches, combos
focus on foot placement, weight shifting/momentum, not looking stiff – easing, etc
at that point, you’ll basically just be adding a second person into the animation – at which point some people find useful to make what’s almost considered just an animatic of the fight scene (just all the key poses, almost like a slideshow, not an actual animation) – this is to get the pacing and positioning right of the two characters throughout the scene
then go back and fill in all the in-betweens
