But I feel like I shouldn’t put them everywhere.
I do not think the grip neccesarily needs the opposite line of gradient, does it?
Yeah, a lot of gradients makes the items look “cooler”, but not all the time.

I don’t like guns with multiple parts and you have to “assemble them”

Nah, it wont be. Most of the guns I made dont require any assembly, so, dont worry about it.
I mean like they come in 4 parts

Well some people like highly realistic guns and sometimes all this detail means that just part of the gun already reaches the node limit
