Hi. I recently started animating on stick nodes, and wanted to make my stick figure. Problem is, I don\’t know anything about how to make a good one, and I tried to make one, it looks like a Mario 64 corruptions video. Should I keep using downloaded models or something? I dunno, I need some sort of advice

lmao
it just takes practice my dude
it also depends on what you’re trying to create
if it’s an existing character/thing, load a BG image of it and simply “trace” it, once you’ve established all the proper non-static nodes (for movement)

You should start simple and improve your figure later on. Dont spend too much time planning out and just do it. You will eventually get the hang of it and come up with your own style of figmaking, and thats when you can spend time planning out.
If you are planning on making an original character instead, read this:
Use a stickfigure base (like the one that comes with sticknodes) and import it. Click edit stickfigure. There, you can have a basic anatomy already layed out that you can change to your likings. Once you are done with that, experiment with hair, pants, shoes, and all of that stuff. Once you found what you like, develop a personality and name out of that figure. The reason you shouldn’t develop a personality first is because you don’t want “voices not matching looks.” If your charaters name isnt matching their family origin either (yes, that includes origins that dont exist on planet earth), thats also something to worry about. If there is some weird wacky stuff that went by that messed up your ocs genes (I dont know what people do with ocs these days) you can ignore this.
EDIT:
One more thing, dont overhaul your stickfigure TOO much. If you change something fundamental about your stickfigures design, you can end up with weird stuff and it messes with your stickfigures appeal.
