OK so Nduene is a fictional super-city in a far version of earth where humans have somehow avoided the brain rot future and have fully harnessed renewable resources. Nduene is like a magnet for tourists and such, being the only well kept town in half the world and being famous for being a miracle and Marvel of engineering, demonstrating perfect use of technology to better the lives of all residents. The thing is, this is like a false miracle because the actual residents have to live through constant transactions, as the corporate power controlling it all has a monopoly on everything, even sleep and having a front door. So like “You need the Nduene Ultra Lifetime subscription to purchase this sidewalk. Your contributions will ensure the integrity of our perfect town” type stuff. Anyway, the corporate signs a deal with this underground creator to use the blueprints of his unknown robots and like they make a bunch of prototypes that are “too simple” (aka: they can’t have full control over them so they angy) so they cut off that creator and make their own that they have full control of and give no credit to that guy so unfortunate but like the first success was the First Protector, referred to as Kiki because easy to track when names. Kiki eventually became like the face of the town as a “pinnacle of advancement” and became like the blueprint for all other after it. Anyway, they make a bunch more, start the Assessor line devoted to judging citizens and tourists and such and basically tourists get everything free for 24h after one payment, while regular citizens have to pay for every thing so presentation > actual living conditions and then they make devices and stuff for convenience for the citizens and then charge convenience fees that are way overpriced and like there’s this resistance groups that’s like “we don’t like you’re rules” so they steal a few of the prototypes and refitted them and kinda fight against corporate but like they do massive damage and then kinda get forgotten. So at this point, history books begin to surface, and only like one of them is credible but made by an insane guy so can’t trust much and one of the Protector models starts to use a little bit of clever language to take advantage of double meanings to give the citizens more hope while still being technically compliant. Then that one gets caught and just like silently replaced . Then there was another one that was “not taking your job seriously” and also got silently removed but like every other one was fine but like the 10th protector kinda was using an outdated piece of code from the original models so a little too optimistic and thought that was the norm and thought every other protector was just weird and then like the latest one was a huge robot that never got used even though being fully developed and just became an entrance statue
While all of this is going on multiple owners are coming and going all doing the same jobs but then like this new owner comes in, passes the interview and then exposes everything and just leaves. No explanation 💀
Anyway, with no owner to sustain the place it just kinda dissappear and so the citizens have no one to control them now so some like panic but like some kinda live a better life and some of the robots still keep doing their jobs because they can and like it just becomes normal life. Like the most average days you can imagine
