Clan tryouts?
I don’t know but I imagine you’d get into with a high-ranking member of said clan and then ask if you can make a tryout to be considered for joining their clan.
Then again clan’s are just a fancy way of saying a friend group so it really doesn’t matter, it’s just extra publicity for something that isn’t even that public anyway.
You don’t actually talk with a high ranking member, that’s usually just for “private” tryouts which only get considered if you’re actually of notable skill level
Tryouts for clans are just waiting until tryouts are “open” in which you make an animation following the specific rules and regulations announced by the clan (e.g. beat someone up under a specific amount of time), which usually remain open for a certain amount of time, or open indefinitely if a clan is desperate for members
You are right with the clans being “friend groups” though, they’re just competitive roleplay-style organized friend groups between multiple animators, with some of their main goals being either getting every member to improve or to tell the story of their clan
but to be fair joining a clan isnt worth it nowadays
im in one of the “big” sn clans and am heavily connected with some of the biggest ones
the entire scene is just completely dead, like i barely notice any clans that are actually notable that are still alive
Oh wow, judging from earlier days so to speak it seemed like the whole clan scene was a lot more prevalent, things have sort of gone downhill for Stick Nodes although I think with the right push and people to bring it up it could get back onto it’s feet, possibly better than before.
