For those pro stickfigure makers out there, do you have any suggestions for ways to improve the workflow of creating a stickfigure?
Aka improvements to the “creation” area?
(Not really talking “new shapes” but rather, maybe, menu navigation – easier way to X, etc)
Like for example. I was working on my latest stickfigure the other day and noticed how its annoying to not know what a static vs non-static node is when seeing a cluster of them, so I made non-static nodes slightly smaller.

Don’t static nodes appear grey when you select any node and non static nodes appear blue? I don’t know if this needed change so you can tell them apart but alrighty
Quite honestly I don’t have any real suggestions….actually I do have one
When you copy paste a poly fill, it should copy the poly fill as well and not just the nodes
yes, lol, this is a common one
might not make it in 3.0.0 but i will do it eventually
That’s good to hear then
The ability to keep smart-stretch changes in creation mode.
hmm
This. Cause sometimes I miscalculated the length and then rip.
The ability to zoom in on background images you loaded.
this is true, i’ve needed this on occassion as well
I’ve just scaled the stickfigure up/down which had the same effect though
What if you made it so that the static nodes were grey(like it it) and the stretchy nodes were yellow maybe?
but like, is that something people need to see visually?
that a stretchy node is stretchy, that is
But what if I don’t know that my stretchy node is stretchy and then I’m in the middle of an animation and I stretch the node by accident I’m like
*well, guess I’ll die*
Make stretchy nodes green
Make stretchy static nodes purple
The question is, is the bug with tracing stickfigure fixed or did you not even realise it exist-
Like sometimes it goes in a corner and then lol.
Might be due to scale thing but not sure.
i can’t ever get it to happen
it happened to me once and I was all ??? and never again so
…idk man
I have an issue on my phone
When tracing an image I usually open a little bar menu on my iPhone to put music or even leave the app for a second but just the moment I interact with external things form the app the image I’m tracing disappears
interesante
since creation mode bgs are temporary they’re not “saved”, to preserve memory
so upon leaving the app and coming back, they go away
i guess you interacting outside the app is the same as “leaving the app” so unsure if I can get around that…
Not leaving
On iPhone I use the swipe down and swipe up to change volume or light or even see the hour, the image still disappears
Pros? Stick Figure making?
oh shit here we go again….
Ok so i have plenty of suggestions but i don’t really know if you be able to keep up with all of them.
Whenever i create a figure is always for stick figure fighting or related.
Things that animators like me would like a lot in the creation menu would of be :
(Since Movieclips are about to be a thing)
-An option to go in a movieclip thingy so you can start creating a movieclip from the creation menu with all the shapes and things (probably the UI would of be complicated)
-Another thing would be a feature of curve segments. you could have this segment to work taking a number of a set nodes to make the curve work, so if i want a big curve this should of take like 12 segments or idk.
Gif example of how the node would of work :
If you want me to give more ideas here i am to make u struggle and suffer 😀
Pivot.
???
curve segments are OP but I’ve seen potential for them so I will look into it in a future update
as for that first idea I think ur trying to kill me
lets wait til you see how MC and MC creation mode etc work before you cause me physical pain
physical pain is what i will cause ya when i start to brainstorm in animation and i see i’m lacking tools or something which should barely happen.
pd : d4vid demands the filter “add” from painting softwares for effects and stuff.
pet peeve of mine is when I’m tracing an image where the object is not at the center of the image i have to move the main node which becomes a problem because the main node’s position resets whenever you load it again
interpret that as you will
when you say “move the main node” do you mean drag it?
because like, you know
that takes 2 seconds
yes but precision is a nightmare
so when you go back to edit the figure there will be slight deviations from the original image which adds up
