Think of them as an “auto animation”
Say youre trying to animate a punch but you dont want to animate the guy getting punched and the guy punching at the same time. Movieclips let you make the animation of the guy getting punched beforehand and they move on their own the more you add frames.
Let’s say the guy getting punched had a movieclip that lasts 30 frames. You have to make that movieclip beforehand. Then finally once the guy gets punched, you can play the movieclip and he’ll play his reaction as you add the frames, so you can just focus on the animation of the guy punching without making it overwhelming on you
This could apply to anything though, a gunshot, an impact frame, a punching fx, anything. They are downloadable from the website too

Sword
Man commits murder, refuses to elaborate and disappears
Jokes aside
Haven’t animated in a while. Definetely have improved. One of my main reasons of burnout was how I felt like I had no control of how the animation turned out, mainly because I was constantly rushing and brainlessly moving poses without considering how specifically theyre supposed to move. Most of the time I’d get bad results, and only every now and then id get lucky and accidentally do something right. Another problem was how I didn’t properly care about my poses so they’d always turn out as half baked and broken versions of what I had anticipated theyd look like
I feel like ive finally gotten rid of those problems and I understand animation more alot better now. I’m gonna start making alot more animations in the upcoming weeks or so.

Progress
Im now focusing on the actual suit design, its hard to give it “iconicness
I’m surprised I managed to do this with no reference. I’ve changed my perspective on references recently though because I’ve realized that if i were to use references to draw something alot, id eventually understand it enough to not need reference
For his power I’ve considered something unique, which is turning velocity into strength, e.g, the faster he is, the stronger he is
He could have boosters on his legs that let him slide and jump off of any surface at high speed
He could maybe ricochet and increase his speed by charging his jump
I dont know, i think it sounds pretty cool, gives alot of room for unique fighting and traversal

Not bad for starters; the arm, wrist, palm and thumb structure is really neat. However, I would add more joints to the longer fingers to make them more finger-like, and to avoid them looking like an undercooked spaghetti noodle. Great job!
edit: I would also practice understanding the dimensions of the finger as to figure out where the fingernails should be placed.

What nodedude said, genetics will play into how long your limbs are etc.

The slash and the way dude falls over reminds me of an enemy dying in a video game. Looks pretty good IMO.
